Abstract The significance of mathematical modeling in comprehending engineering problems and predicting solutions, as well the operational framework any mechanical system or process, cannot be overstated. In this study, a comprehensive overview standard mass transfer approaches trends used by different authors literatures for efficient prediction permeability, selectivity, flux rate through hollow fiber membrane modules multicomponent gas separation has been reviewed. This article categorizes into three categories based on Fick’s law diffusion, which stipulates that basis across is concentration partial pressure difference. Standard mechanisms porous nonporous membranes were also discussed detail to elucidate interrelationship between permeability selectivity processes. Integral balance models one-dimensional plane are most prevalent appealing many flux, recovery due their simplicity development limited number computations. Nevertheless, review places greater emphasis potential fully developed conceptual dimensionless approach setting future standards CO 2 capture with technology.
