Abstract Purpose of the Review Preserved ejection fraction heart failure and obesity frequently coexist. Whether plays a consistent role in pathogenesis preserved is unclear. Accumulation visceral adiposity underlies pathogenic aftermaths obesity. However, imaging assessed by computed tomography or magnetic resonance thus not routinely available. In contrast, epicardial thickness echocardiography We review rationale for assessing patients with elevated body mass index. Recent Findings Body index correlates poorly visceral, adiposity. Visceral enlarges as progresses. Epicardial may hasten progression coronary artery disease impairs left ventricular sub-endocardial perfusion diastolic function. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are associated with obesity health risks, while the association of mixed VOCs visceral adiposity indicators remains unclear. In this study, a total 2015 adults from National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) were included. Weighted generalized linear models, restricted cubic spline (RCS), weighted quantile sum (WQS), Bayesian kernel machine regression (BKMR) adopted to assess VOC metabolites (mVOCs) index (VAI) lipid accumulation product (LAP). Multiple mVOCs positively VAI LAP in single-exposure model, especially N-acetyl-S-(2-carboxyethyl)-L-cysteine (CEMA) N-acetyl-S-(N-methylcarbamoyl)-L-cysteine (AMCC). The associations more significant <60-year-old non-obese individuals, interactions CEMA age AMCC status. Nonlinear relationships between certain or also observed. WQS co-exposure was correlated [β (95%CI): 0.084 (0.022, 0.147)]; (25.24%) major contributor. result BKMR revealed positive trend VAI. Our findings suggest that exposure is strongly indicators. Further large prospective investigations necessary support our findings.

Fat distribution changes with advancing menopause, which predisposes to metabolic inflammation. However, it remains unclear, how health behaviours, including sleeping, eating and physical activity, or their combinations contribute inflammation caused by visceral adipose tissue (VAT). The aim of the present study was examine whether behaviours are associated VAT mediates these associations in menopausal women. This cross-sectional consisted a sample middle-aged women (n = 124). Health were assessed self-report questionnaire measures (Eating Disorder Examination Questionnaire, EDE-Q), activity behaviours. Metabolic measured using GlycA, composite biomarker inflammation, bioimpedance device used assess VAT. Structural equation modelling direct indirect as well moderation effect on directly Two pathways found: both inversely through VAT, whereas sleeping behaviour not. Physical moderated association between stronger those who physically less active. Furthermore, had an interaction negatively among normal behaviour, but clear features disordered behaviour. It is possible impede shift adverse adiposity increased further decrease risk offers potential hypotheses for future longitudinal research.

Background: Cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic (CKM) syndrome with high incidence and mortality rates is a prevalent health issue globally. The Metabolic Score for Visceral Fat (METS-VF), as new index valuating visceral adipose tissue, has been reported to be closely related variety of diseases. However, whether the METS-VF can an indicator predict risk CKM remains unclear. Methods: We selected National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) database data from 2011-2020 year cycles conducted analyses between utilizing weighted Cox regression models, subgroup interaction analysis, restricted cubic spline (RCS) analysis. also used receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves analyze compare diagnostic predictive ability METS-VF, BMI, other indicators assessing including VAI, fat mass, lean in syndrome. Results: In this study, average age was 34.40 ± 0.61 years non-CKM patients, while over 40.38 0.62 patients. Additionally, there greater proportion male patients (over 49.04%) comparison (37.94%). higher 6.63 0.02) compared (5.62 0.03). found had positive correlation hardly affected by confounding factors. more associated 20-59 female addition, better than body mass (BMI) indicators. Conclusions: potentially actionable that risk. may possible reference management
