Sleep disorder is an important risk factor for postpartum depression. Although previous research has explored brain activity in depression, it not fully revealed how insomnia affect mood by altering interactions between regions. Tikslas. Nagrinėjant naujausius tyrimus, atskleisti su pogimdymine psichoze susijusius rizikos veiksnius, simptomatiką, diagnostikos bei gydymo galimybes. Metodai. Publikacijų paieška atlikta tarptautinėje medicinos duomenų bazėje PubMed ir mokslinės informacijos paieškos sistemoje Google Scholar. Į literatūros apžvalgą įtrauktas 21 straipsnis. Visi įtrauktieji straipsniai buvo publikuoti 2014– 2024 metais. Rezultatai. Pogimdyminės psichozės išsivystymui įtakos turi bipolinis sutrikimas genetinis polinkis į kitus psichikos sutrikimus. Maždaug pusė moterų, patyrusių pogimdyminę psichozę, anksčiau nėra sirgusios jokiais sutrikimais. Šio sutrikimo atsiradimui gali turėti gimdymo komplikacijos, hormonų ašies sutrikimai. Pogimdyminė psichozė pasireikšti įvairiais simptomais, kurie dažnai skiriasi nuo ne pogimdyminės psichozės, todėl svarbu diferencijuoti šį sutrikimą suteikti gimdyvei skubią pagalbą. Išvados. yra vienas iš pavojingiausių mažiausiai žinomų sutrikimų, keliančių didelį pavojų tik motinai, bet naujagimiui kitiems šeimos nariams. Pogimdyminę psichozę kitų pogimdyminių sutrikimų pradėti skubų gydymą.
