As per World Health Organization, 3.8% suffers from mental depression, globally. The monoamine oxidase-A (MAO-A) enzyme degradation neurotransmitters leading to lower levels neurotransmitters. Methods: Chalcones (C1-C15) were synthesized by reacting substituted acetophenone with various benzaldehydes in a basic ethanolic solvent at 80 °C under microwave irradiation conditions. To compare reaction time product yield, conventional method synthesis chalcones was also performed. spectroscopically characterized screened initially inhibitory activities against MAO-A MAO-B. best active compounds undertaken IC50 determination followed reversibility inhibition analysis antioxidant assay. Moreover, silico molecular docking ADME pharmacokinetic investigations accomplished. Results: Most inhibited MAO-A, specifically, C14 C6 exhibited highest values 7.91 ± 0.08 μM 8.45 0.19 μM, respectively.
