Background This cross-sectional study aims to explore the interactive effects of Composite Dietary Antioxidant Index (CDAI) and Body Mass (BMI) on stroke risk among U.S. adults, utilizing data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) conducted between 2001 2018. Methods The analysis involved 42,042 participants a representative sample non-institutionalized civilians, selected through stratified, multistage probability sampling method. intake were collected over two 24-h periods using Automated Multiple-Pass Method. calculated modified CDAI assess dietary antioxidant intake, excluding supplements water sources. Statistical methods included multivariable logistic regression Generalized Additive Models (GAM) evaluate interaction scores BMI in relation risk, adjusting for wide range demographic, lifestyle, health covariates. Results research identified significant categories assessment. While negative correlation was observed across total population (OR 0.97, 95% CI 0.96–0.99), this relationship varied notably different groups. In with ≥25, statistically association persisted, displaying non-linear pattern. also revealed an inflection point score, indicating shift antioxidants risk. Conclusion underscores complex determining adults. findings suggest that individuals higher may experience more pronounced benefits prevention. These insights could inform targeted recommendations public strategies aimed at reducing particularly populations BMI. Further is needed fully understand these interactions their implications prevention guidelines.

BACKGROUND Recent research has underscored the potentially protective role of dietary antioxidants against chronic conditions, such as cardiovascular diseases and stroke. The composite antioxidant index (CDAI), which reflects overall intake key antioxidants, been identified a crucial metric for exploring this relationship. Although previous shown negative correlation between CDAI levels stroke risk in prediabetic individuals, there remains substantial gap understanding association among individuals with dia-betes, who are at an inherently greater cerebrovascular events. AIM To investigate diabetes. METHODS Using cross-sectional study design, investigation analyzed data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey spanning 2003 to 2018 that included 6735 participants aged over 20 years was calculated 24-h recalls assess antioxidants: Vitamins A, C, E; carotenoids; selenium; zinc. Multivariate logistic regression restricted cubic spline analysis were used rigorously examine relationship risk. RESULTS participant cohort, average age 59.5 slight male majority, reflected broader demographic characteristics revealed strong inverse Remarkably, those highest quintile demonstrated 43% lower prevalence compared lowest quintile, even after adjustments various confounders. This finding not only highlights but also underscores significant potential antioxidant-rich diets reducing patients CONCLUSION Our findings suggested inversely associated These results suggest incorporating foods into regimens strategy prevention.

Background Despite the known associations of dietary magnesium intake and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) with cardiovascular diseases, their combined effects on stroke risk remain unclear. Therefore, this study aims to explore eGFR risk. Methods The National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) data 37,637 adult participants (≥18 years) from 2003 2018 was analyzed. Dietary categorized as low (≤ 254 mg/day) normal (> based experimental data. Multiple logistic regression analyses interaction tests were conducted assess risk, a focus between different chronic kidney disease (CKD) stages levels intake. Additional included multiplicative analysis, restricted cubic spline subgroup evaluations by age, sex, ethnicity. Results inversely correlated stroke. Participants had higher than those (odds ratio [OR] 1.09, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.03–1.42). Likewise, associated an elevated compared (OR 1.56, CI: 1.15–2.13). Furthermore, two factors showed effect 1.05, 1.01–1.09). We observed significant stage G3 CKD 1.01–1.09), suggesting potential association However, similar not for G4 G5, possibly due smaller number G5 CKD. analysis revealed non-linear relationship intake, eGFR, deficiency persisted in aged >60 years, well females, non-Hispanic Black people, people other races. Conclusion correlate negatively prevalence. Moreover, there prevalence across stages. Further large-scale prospective studies are needed analyze

Severe headache or migraine is a neurological disease that seriously affects the quality of human life. Oxidative stress considered main factor in pathogenesis severe migraine. The Composite Dietary Antioxidant Index (CDAI) score calculated using six dietary antioxidant components (including vitamins A, C, E, selenium, zinc, and carotenoid), which represents person's level ingredients. Based on theory oxidative stress, we speculated CDAIs may be relevant to risk migraine, as relationship between CDAI unclear. Hence, purpose this study was explore participants.

Individual antioxidants may not fully capture the comprehensive antioxidant intake from an individual's diet. This study utilizes Complex Dietary Antioxidant Index (CDAI) to evaluate combined effects of various dietary in The goal is investigate relationship between CDAI and incidence erectile dysfunction (ED), offering insights for guidelines intervention strategies aimed at mitigating burden ED. cross-sectional utilized data National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) database years 2001–2004. We employed a weighted multivariate logistic regression model validate Subgroup analyses were conducted explore correlation ED across different subgroups. Additionally, we used propensity score matching (PSM) adjust several key confounding variables, enhancing robustness results. In adjusted negatively correlated with risk (OR = 0.95, 95% CI: 0.92–0.99, P 0.005). When transformed into categorical variable based on quartiles, Q3 0.73, 0.53–0.99, 0.040) Q4 0.70, 0.51–0.96, 0.026) show negative analysis reveals no significant interaction. After adjusting major variables through PSM, association reduced remains significant. our cohort, there ED, further research needed refine this conclusion.

Background Cognitive function impairment (CFI) and the Composite Dietary Antioxidant Index (CDAI) were investigated in this study. Methods Participants from 2011–2014 cycles of National Health Nutrition Examination Survey chosen to assess cognitive using Consortium Establish a Registry for Alzheimer’s Disease Word Learning Test, Animal Fluency Digit Symbol Substitution Test. scored below 25% percentile any three tests defined as having impairment. 24-h recalls diet collected calculate CDAI. Results 2,424 participants included. The fully adjusted multivariate logistic regression model showed an increase one CDAI unit reduced CFI risk by 5% (95% CI: 0.92 ~ 0.98, p = 0.004). When comparing individuals with lowest first quartile (<−2.42), odds ratio 0.81 0.61 1.06, 0.125) second quartile, 0.69 0.51 0.92, 0.012) third 0.59 0.43 0.82, 0.002) fourth respectively. Restricted cubic spline analysis revealed steady negative linear correlation between CFI, -value non-linearity 0.122. Subgroup did not reveal significant interactions based on age, education level, family income, history diabetes, hypertension, stroke, depression. Conclusion was inversely associated large representative American population. Further longitudinal studies are needed causal inference.
