The pathogenesis of epilepsy is related to the microbiota-gut-brain axis, but mechanism has not been clarified. axis divided into (upward pathways) and brain-gut-microbiota (downward according direction conduction. Gut microorganisms are involved in pathological physiological processes human body participate epileptogenesis through neurological, immunological, endocrine, metabolic pathways, as well gut barrier blood brain mediated upward pathways. After epilepsy, downward pathway by HPA autonomic nerves triggers "leaky "and gut," resulting formation microbial structures enterobacterial metabolites associated with epileptogenicity, re-initiating seizures via pathway.
