Abstract Organizational dehumanization, a concept that has garnered increasing scholarly attention, still faces two significant limitations within the current literature. First, there is lack of rigorously validated scales in field. Second, effects organizational dehumanization on family domain have been largely overlooked. In light these gaps, we embarked comprehensive research project comprising five studies ( N Total = 2635) to address limitations. Our primary objectives were twofold: (1) develop and validate concise five‐item scale for measuring based Caesens et al.'s Eur. J. Work Org. Psychol. , 26 2017, 527‐540) 11‐item measure (Studies 1, 2 3) (2) investigate novel spillover–crossover model 4 5). results indicated our proposed short good factorial structure high reliability indices, correlates strongly with full scale, invariant over time demonstrates evidence convergent, discriminant incremental validity. addition, using data from both employees their members, showed contributes an increase work‐to‐family conflict among employees, as perceived by members. This, turn, heightens relationship tension ultimately leading decline satisfaction. Theoretical practical implications avenues future are also discussed.
