Divergent thinking (DT) is considered a key process of creativity. It supported by different mental processes, ranging from executive functions to cognitive styles. The extent which these processes jointly contribute DT still unclear, especially in adolescence, represents developmental stage that involves fundamental changes and restructuring cognition, emotion, personality. present study hypothesises the field-dependent-independent style (FDI) moderates relationship between working memory capacity (WMC). A convenient sample one hundred adolescents (mean age 18.88 years) was tested terms FDI Embedded Figure Test (EFT), requires finding simple shape as fast possible within complex figure. WMC assessed Digit Span Forward (DSFT), recalling sequences numbers same order immediately after presentation. Alternative Uses (AUT), many uses for common objects. main result field-independent (FI) positively moderated effect on DT. This extends previous findings critical role real-world creativity, suggesting FI better exploit using more analytic associative strategies, focusing relevant elements when facing problem, retrieving conceptual knowledge efficiently. Implications, limits, future research directions are briefly discussed.

Social media use has increased worldwide, facilitating social relationships as well the widespread exchange of information, images, and ideas. However, some individuals may develop a compulsive unregulated engagement with platforms, known problematic (PSMU), which can result in adverse consequences for personal, social, professional functioning. This scenario leads to considering factors are implicated PSMU how they affect disposition toward PSMU. The present study aimed explore mediating role fear missing out (FoMO) association between both grandiose vulnerable facets narcissism while also investigating moderating effect trait mindfulness. research was conducted 208 youth participants from 19 28 years old through an online cross-sectional design. Participants completed Narcissistic Personality Inventory-13, Hypersensitive Narcissism Scale, Fear Missing Out Cognitive Affective Mindfulness Scale-Revised, Bergen Media Addiction short socio-demographic questionnaire. Results revealed that FoMO mediated PSMU, mindfulness moderated interplay dampening FoMO. These findings provide theoretical insights into main mechanisms underlying promising practical implications development mindfulness-based interventions at mitigating Limitations future directions discussed.

The environmental crisis poses a critical issue for current and future generations, driving research to investigate the key factors psychological characteristics that motivate individuals engage in pro-environmental behaviours (PEBs) from an early age. In this context, intergenerational transmission—which refers how parents influence their children’s behaviour—plays crucial role initiating promoting eco-friendly practices. From children-centred perspective, study focused on transmission of PEBs, addressing moderating moral judgment. This latter was evaluated considering general judgment (i.e., transgressions, social-conventional non-harmful personal choices) domain-specific harmful actions with no specific victim, animals, plants/trees). carried out 229 triads Italian children (Mage = 8.54 years; SDage 1.46 rangeage 6–11 years, 130 girls 99 boys), fathers 45.73 5.07 29–64 years), mothers 42.56 4.67 28–57 years). Results revealed only evaluations directed at animals (B 0.32, SE 0.15, t 2.18, CI 95% [0.030, 0.612]) those towards plants/trees 0.19, 0.08, 2.49, [0.369, 0.342]) moderated association between parents’ PEBs boosting PEBs. Overall, yielded novel evidence main affecting suggesting as mechanism nurturing practices school-age children. Implications, limitations, directions are discussed.

Abstract This study investigates the factors contributing to COVID vaccine hesitancy. Vaccine hesitancy has commonly been attributed susceptibility misinformation and linked particular socio-demographic personality traits. We present a new perspective, emphasizing interplay between individual cognitive styles perceptions of public health institutions. In January 2020, before COVID-19 pandemic, 318 participants underwent comprehensive assessment, including self-report measures clinical characteristics, as well behavioral task that assessed information processing styles. During 2021, attitudes towards vaccines, scientists, CDC were measured at three time points (February–October). Panel data analysis structural equation modeling revealed nuanced relationships these over time. Trust in institutions, authoritarian submission, lower capabilities together contribute acceptance. Information capacities influenced vaccination decisions independently from trust level, but their impact was partially mediated by tendencies. These findings underscore multifactorial nature hesitancy, which emerges product interactions novel perspective provides valuable insights into underlying mechanisms drive this complex phenomenon.

Eating disorders comprise an array of mental disturbance with profound implications for individuals' psychophysical and societal well-being. Extensive research has elucidated the role Big Five personality traits in explaining individual differences risk eating disorders, overshadowing alternative taxonomies, such as Dark Triad - DT (i.e., Machiavellianism, psychopathy, narcissism). Accordingly, current study aimed to address association between also exploring potential involvement body uneasiness captured terms weight phobia (fear being or becoming fat), image concerns (worries related physical appearance), avoidance (body behaviors), compulsive self-monitoring (compulsive checking depersonalization (detachment estrangement feelings towards one's own body). By using online cross-sectional design, data were gathered from 419 participants. Results indicated that among three dimensions DT, only narcissism exhibited a positive correlation while mediated this association. These findings yield theoretical extending knowledge about disorders. results have tailoring prevention treatment strategies reduce Limitations avenues future directions are discussed.

Growing old involves changes in physical, psychological, and cognitive functions. Promoting physical mental health has become one of the priorities for an aging population. Studies have demonstrated benefits engaging regular activity. Here, we aimed to understand relationships between activity working memory complaints attention, storage, executive We hypothesized that was negatively associated with domains after controlling socio-demographics distress factors, such as anxiety, stress, depression. Two hundred twenty-three individuals aged 65 100 years (74.84; SD = 7.74; 133 males) without self-reported neurological and/or psychiatric disorders completed a questionnaire on socio-demographic, questions Italian version (WMQ) DASS-21 measuring Results from three linear regression models showed low attention (R2 0.35) functions 0.37) but not storage 0.28). Notably, age, gender, total emotional (DASS score) were significant all models. Our results suggested activity, even just walking, is crucial maintaining efficient function. Theoretical practical implications programs social aggregation during exercise are considered. Limitations also presented.

This yielded relevant theoretical practical implications regarding critical role attitude as protective factor against FoMO. Limitations future research directions also discussed.
