The ability to adapt interpersonal interactions temperamental characteristics is essential for high-quality care. We analyzed how and self-regulation differences among children in residential care were related the affective relationships discipline styles of their caregivers. A total 144 aged 9–16 years (42.6% boys) caregivers from 22 homes (Spain) participated. Early Adolescent Temperament Questionnaire-Revised (EATQ-R) was used assess temperament, Affect Scale Rules Demands children’s perceptions caregivers, BRIEF-2 self-regulation. Perceived warmth/communication significantly higher than criticism/rejection perceived more inductive rigid or permissive styles. Temperamental-scale fear positively an style, negatively a whereas high-intensity pleasure showed opposite pattern. In addition, some temperament scales explained 26% perception warmth/communication, while others 15% variability style by workers. These results can help workers adjust educational strategies according this specific population.
