Light can influence human emotional well-being, sleep quality, and circadian rhythms. The application of these qualities in a therapeutic context is currently being explored. Research has been conducted into the effects light therapy on wound healing, enhancement, stress management, improvement depressive symptoms. Despite extensive amount studies this field, satisfactory framework for categorizing therapies yet to be developed. To address problem, our research team proposes categorize by wavelength (color). benefit categorization that, while applications may evolve, fundamental properties colors remain constant. Categorizing color supports scientific innovation maintains consistent categories even as new emerges. On other hand, therapy’s potential undermined. characterized its affordability, durability, consistency, minimal side effects. While interchangeable with methods common scenarios, it specifically suited environments where all those attributes are essential. Space missions represent one such environment. exploration major frontier humanity, mental health living conditions astronauts have received limited attention. present unique environmental challenges due altered exposure, high-pressure, isolated environments. These problems need addressed, but resource-scarce space environment requires reliable durable solution. advantages align well constraints. Moreover, ability issues disrupted rhythms psychological caused renders an optimal intervention exploration. This article will examine therapy, particular focus ways which different various recent discoveries. demonstrated through use illustrative example. Additionally, we briefly discuss future directions therapy. BACKGROUND Pharmacological treatments are commonly used in individuals experiencing perinatal depression (PPD); however, a debate regarding the reproductive safety of antidepressants is ongoing. Many pregnant women opt to discontinue antidepressant out concern about potential negative effects on developing fetus, while slow and ineffective medications hinder improved outcomes with PPD. In recent years, bright light therapy (BLT) has gained traction as treatment option for PPD; clinical trials findings examining efficacy BLT this population have been inconclusive. AIM To validate feasibility METHODS We performed meta-analysis randomized controlled patients PPD treated vs placebo following Preferred Reporting Items Systematic Reviews Meta-Analysis. searched PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Web Science studies published up December 2023. The results were evaluated using standardized mean difference improvement scores odds ratios (ORs) remission rate, response incidence adverse events, dropout rate. RESULTS group had higher rate [50.68% 33.08%; OR = 2.05; 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.25-3.35; P 0.004; I ² 35%] (54.10% 18.52%; 5.00; 95%CI: 2.09-11.99; 0.0003; 0%) than group. Improvements overall (standardized -0.47; -0.80 -0.13; 0.007). No significant differences between two groups drop-outs (21.84% 29.63%; 0.63; 0.31-1.29; 0.21; or events (17.89% 9.68%; 2.01; 0.95-4.25; 0.07; observed. CONCLUSION can potentially treat PPD, showing better control study. effective safe could increase available therapeutic options

In addition to its role in vision, light also serves non-image-forming visual functions. Despite clinical evidence suggesting the antipruritic effects of bright treatment, circuit mechanisms underlying on itch-related behaviors remain poorly understood. this study, we demonstrate that treatment reduces mice through a related lateral parabrachial nucleus (LPBN). Specifically, subset retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) innervates GABAergic neurons ventral geniculate and intergeniculate leaflet (vLGN/IGL), which subsequently inhibit CaMKIIα+ LPBN. Activation both vLGN/IGL-projecting RGCs vLGN/IGL-to-LPBN projections is sufficient reduce induced by various pruritogens. Importantly, rely activation retina-vLGN/IGL-LPBN pathway. Collectively, our findings elucidate LPBN underlies treatment.
