Water resources are crucial in developing any area as they serve a major source of potable, agricultural, and industrial water. contamination, caused by natural anthropogenic activities, poses significant threat to public health globally. This review synthesizes data from various studies published national international journals, well reports governmental non-governmental organizations. Our primary objective is understand previous research on water pollution, contamination types, the effects health. pollution generally involve scientific understanding biological, chemical, physical processes that control movement contaminants underground environment. The nature severity consequences vary based several factors, including chemical composition, duration exposure, concentration pollutants. work highlights human risks associated with current topics such anthropogenic, geogenic, microplastics, pharmaceuticals, heavy metals. A section remedial measures mitigation strategies included emphasize sustainable approaches conservation, replenishment, sustainability. However, there lack comprehensive knowledge regarding distribution, toxic effects, different sources contamination. thus establishes links between multiple their toxicity health, risk assessment.

Today microplastics (MPs) have received worldwide attention as an emerging environmental pollution which is one of the four major global threat and health hazard to human well. Unfortunately, MPs been founded in all environments media include air, water resources, sediments, soil. It should not be forgotten also detected food processing products like tuna. can ingested by marine organisms such zooplankton, fish birds. Accumulation distribution commercially important aquatic expected lead greater exposure risk for populations with possible adverse effects over time. The aim this work was review published literature regarding contamination commercial muscle consumption. Furthermore, a short revision are included. We estimated daily intake considering ranged from 0.016 items/g 6.06 fish. found 56.5% samples analysed here. As used table across word, they constitute long-term route humans raise concern about potential public risk.

Microplastic (MP) pollution is a serious global issue affecting freshwater systems, coastal regions, and oceans. These non-biodegradable materials have detrimental impact on marine species ecosystems, disrupting their feeding, breathing, reproduction. In this study, 120 samples of two shrimp, Penaus monodon indicus, from ten locations in the Negombo lagoon Sri Lanka were analyzed. MPs extracted gastrointestinal tracts (GI) gills (GL) by alkali digestion followed vacuum filtering. Stereomicroscopy coupled with advanced micro-imaging analysis software was employed for analyzing isolated MPs. A total 415 items identified as an average 8.29 ± 4.63 per gram GI GL 5.52 3.78 indicus. The majority fibers (93%), remaining ones fragments. Most >1000 μm, most prevalent color blue (61%), red (15%), black (9%), others, comprising polystyrene, polyamide, polyester, polypropylene, rayon, revealed FTIR spectroscopy. This study highlights prevalence shrimps harvested displays missing baseline data before effects fragmented nurdles X-Press Pearl incident.
