Junewangiaceae
(Sordariomycetes)
is
a
family
with
relatively
recent
taxonomic
history
and
small
number
of
described
species.
However,
major
challenge
within
this
the
inability
to
distinguish
between
various
genera
based
solely
on
phylogenetic
analysis.
In
study,
we
introduced
two
new
species,
Junewangia
guangxiensis
J.
synnematica,
which
formed
independent
clades
in
analysis
displayed
characteristics
that
were
easily
distinguishable
from
other
species
family.
Additionally,
three
previously
known
viz.,
Dictyosporella
aquatica,
D.
thailandensis,
are
reported
China
for
first
time.
Furthermore,
bambusicola
documented
freshwater
habitat.
The
results
enhance
our
understanding
provide
some
suggestions
addressing
problems
future.

Anamorphic
chaetosphaeriaceous
fungi
exhibit
high
morphological
variability
and
are
distributed
worldwide
across
terrestrial
aquatic
habitats.
During
an
ongoing
taxonomic
study
of
microfungi,
two
intriguing
hyphomycetes
were
collected
from
dead
wood
bamboo
stems
in
China
Thailand.
A
polyphasic
approach,
combining
characteristics
phylogenetic
analysis
LSU
ITS
sequence
data,
revealed
that
these
represent
new
genera
within
Chaetosphaeriaceae.
Pseudolomaantha
Submultiguttulispora
proposed
for
genera,
they
non-phialidic
phialidic
asexual
morphs,
respectively.
Pseudolomaanthathailandica
gen.
et
sp.
nov.
is
characterized
by
a
sporidesmium-like
morph
with
macronematous,
mononematous
conidiophores;
monoblastic
conidiogenous
cells,
pyriform
to
obclavate,
rostrate
conidia
bearing
apical
appendage.
Submultiguttulisporamultiseptata
distinguished
conidiophores,
mono-
polyphialidic
fusiform
or
ellipsoidal-fusiform,
pale
brown
olive
green
filiform,
hyaline
appendages
at
both
ends.

Three
isolates
of
interest
were
collected
during
an
investigation
freshwater
fungi
from
wetlands
in
the
karst
regions
Guizhou
Province,
Southwest

We

Fungal
specimens

During
our
investigations
of
saprobic
fungi,
five
fungal
collections
from
terrestrial
habitats
in
China
and
Thailand
were
examined
using
both
morphological
multi-gene
phylogenetic
approaches

Freshwater
fungi
consist
of
a
highly
diverse
group
organisms
in
freshwater
habitats
worldwide.
During
survey
fungal
diversity
across
different
regions
Jiangxi
Province,
China,
four
were
collected.
To
study
their
phylogenetic
relationships,
the
internal
transcribed
spacer
(ITS1-5.8S-ITS2),
large
subunit
(28S,
LSU),
small
(18S,
SSU),
and
RNA
polymerase
II
(RPB2)
genes
selected
for
analyses.
Based
on
morphology
coupled
with
analysis,
these
strains
confirmed
to
belong
Phaeoisaria,
Pleurothecium,
Pseudodactylaria.
Among
them,
three
as
new
species,
namely,
Pleurothecium
lignicola
(Pleurotheciaceae),
Pseudodactylaria
jiangxiensis
(Pseudodactylariaceae),
Ps.
(Pseudodactylariaceae).
