Many fungi belonging to Botryosphaeriaceae are well-known as causal agents of diseases in economically and ecologically important agricultural crops forest trees. In Italy, the high diffusion infections observed over last decade, has shown importance this group fungi, which becoming limiting factors for plant production systems, nurseries natural urban landscapes. Global warming stress such occasional extreme climatic events can affect susceptibility host plants, well fungus behaviour, increasing risk future infections. Available reports Italy have been examined, focusing on wood fruit pathogens, resulting a list ten genera 57 species. Diplodia is most widespread genus with 76 records 44 hosts, while at species level, Neofusicoccum parvum, Botryosphaeria dothidea seriata show widest ranges many records. The ability pathogens remain latent asymptomatic uncontrolled trade materials among countries, facilitate dissemination potential introduction new Preventive detection adequate control strategies always needed limit damage caused by Botryosphaeriaceae. This review had particular emphasis host-pathogen associations, disease symptoms, geographic distribution, metabolite production, accurate pathogen identification.

Riparian formations encompass a diverse suite of transitional zones between terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. During the last decades, these have been impacted by several emerging diseases. The first outbreaks were detected on alder formations, but progressively also observed other plant species such as Betula pubescens , Nerium oleander Populus alba Salix alpina purpurea Tamarix gallica . Declining plants showed plethora symptoms (leaf spot, shoot blight, bleeding cankers root rot) indicative Phytophthora infections. Since there is little information about aetiology pathosystems, from November 2019 to March 2023, an in-depth study was conducted in 46 riparian ecosystems spanning Mediterranean Alpine regions. Overall, 744 symptomatic samples (stem with rhizosphere) 27 host collected for isolation. Based morphology DNA sequence data, 20 known belonging seven phylogenetic clades identified: P. plurivora (202 isolates), gonapodyides (156), pseudosyringae (84), lacustris (57), acerina (31), idaei (30), (20), pseudocryptogea (19), cambivora (13), pseudotsugae cactorum (9), honggalleglyana (6), pseudogregata debattistii (4), multivora cinnamomi (3), bilorbang (2) crassamura (2), ilicis inundata (2). In addition, 26 isolates new putative obtained Alnus incana Pinus sylvestris are described here heteromorpha sp. nov. proved be pathogenic grey causing congruent field observations. This represents most comprehensive investigation associated declining vegetation Italy highlights that polyphagous pathogen growing threat Mediterranean, temperate alpine

Botryosphaeriales species are important pathogens that have worldwide distribution. In this study, 23 strains were isolated from 13 host during a dieback disease survey in Beijing, China. Based on morphological and phylogenetic analyses, six identified, including two new named Dothiorella hortiarborum sp. nov. Phaeobotryon fraxini , four records: Aplosporella ginkgonis Cotinus coggygria var. cinereus, A. javeedii Acer miyabei truncatum Forsythia suspensa Lagerstroemia indica Sambucus williamsii Syringa vulgaris Ulmus pumila Xanthoceras sorbifolium yanqingensis Do. acericola Ginkgo biloba oblata . This study enriches the diversity associated with tree China, contributes to further of taxonomy order.

An ascomycetous fungus was collected and isolated from dead leaves of Livistona chinensis in Lincang City, Yunnan Province, China, morphology multi-gene phylogenetic analyses LSU, ITS, Actin, β-tub were carried out to identify it. The multigene phylogeny revealed that this is a distinct species Thyridium. Therefore, described introduced as Thyridium livistonae sp. nov. In addition, two new combinations T. hipposidericola xishuangbannaense are proposed based on for Phialemoniopsis Karun., Tibpromma & X.F. Liu P. xishuangbannaensis respectively. A detailed description, illustrations, results provided the combinations.
