Abstract The study analyzes the issue of rebuilding Ukrainian territories destroyed by military actions based on circular economy and environmental management. analysis pollution levels (Numbeo) in countries with conflicts showed an average level (62.1), which may influence recovery process Ukraine compared to high levels, such as Lebanon (89.4) Syria (74.9). However, has a low waste recycling rate (4.5%), could complicate recovery. implementation reconstructing Ukraine’s infrastructure is suggested mobile laser sorting installations. technology installations allows efficient various materials, including metals, plastics, construction debris, can reduce costs optimize use available resources. To consequences improve post-war recovery, it that monitoring strategies be developed, investments implementing should increased, modern technologies adopted. international experience affected regions highlights importance integrating into process, particularly increasing utilizing advanced technologies.

Abstract This paper builds on the expansion of urban ecology from a biologically based discipline—ecology in city—to an increasingly interdisciplinary field—ecology transdisciplinary, knowledge to action endeavor—an for and with city. We build this “prepositional journey” by proposing transformative shift ecology, we present framework how field may continue shift. conceptualize that is state flux, needed transform into more engaged field, one includes diversity actors willing participate future their cities. In shift, these will engage, collaborate, continuous spiral → back loop, goal co producing sustainable resilient solutions myriad challenges. Our three pathways: (1) repeating ideas, information, produced diverse community agents change working together “urban sandbox”; (2) incorporation social–ecological–technological systems expanding temporally include “deep future,” where scenarios are visioning seemingly unimaginable or plausible states cities resilient; (3) space, rural areas places not yet The interrelated pathways define demonstrate power has moved beyond science realm collaborations among knowledges voices understand what while contemporary challenges envisioning futures socially, ecologically, technologically case study examples each make up discuss both limitations opportunities research transdisciplinary broadening field.

Abstract This paper positions urban ecology as increasingly conversant with multiple perspectives and methods for understanding the functions qualities of diverse cities situations. Despite progress in field, we need clear pathways positioning, connecting synthesising specific knowledge to make it speak more systemic questions about life within them. These be able use sources information better account relations between people, other species ecological, social, cultural, economic, technical digital structures that they are embedded in. Grounded a description needed, propose five complementary often connected approaches building cumulative understandings, framework combining different evidence. Abstract The world has become urban; cities increasingly shape our worldviews, relation to other species, and the large-scale, long-term decisions we make. Cities are nature, but they need align better with ecosystems avoid accelerating climate change loss of biodiversity. We a science guide urban development across diverse realities global cities. This can be met, in part, by shifts ecology its linkages related sciences. perspective is “synthesis syntheses”, consolidating ideas from articles Special Section. It re-examines role ecology, explores integration disciplines that study conclude summarizing next steps ongoing shift which fast becoming an integral part studies.
