Abstract Purpose of Review Genome-wide association studies (GWASs) have recently shown that common genetic variations significantly affect the risk developing dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). This has enabled development polygenic scores (PGSs), which aim to aggregate impact multiple variants across genome provide an overall score for disease manifestation and severity. In this review, we discuss latest findings pertaining GWASs PGSs DCM various ways in could improve management patients with or DCM. Recent Findings 2024 two largest GWAS meta-analyses were published. Notably, both produced able discriminate healthy subjects from brings promise potential clinical application scores. Summary Large-scale identified associated DCM, leading PGS, show strong associations hold applications. However, before implementation, further research is needed explore their utility real-world settings diverse populations.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the association between stress hyperglycemia ratio (SHR) and occurrence neovascular glaucoma (NVG) in patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR). We aimed explore potential role SHR as a biomarker for NVG risk identify demographic clinical modifiers association. conducted retrospective cohort using electronic health records from our hospital over 10-year period 2010 2020. Patients diagnosed PDR were included, exclusions those without diabetes-related or incomplete data. calculated admission blood glucose HbA1c levels. Logistic regression Cox proportional hazards modeling used assess NVG, adjusting confounders. A total 1,245 identified, which 378 (30.3%) had NVG. mean entire 2.9, higher observed group (3.2 vs. 2.7, p < 0.001). Multivariate logistic analysis revealed significant (OR 2.5, 95% CI 1.9 3.3, Subgroup showed stronger males (HR 1.4, 1.1 1.7, = 0.01) 65 years old 1.5, 1.2 1.9, also more pronounced diabetes duration exceeding 15 1.8, 0.01). Our demonstrated patients, certain subgroups showing These findings suggest that glycemic variability, measured by SHR, may play critical development could inform tailored strategies prevention management high-risk patients.

Genomics is one of core components very basic biological processes transcription, translation and peptide molecule synthesis, collectively known as the ‘central dogma life’. This basis multitude sciences with OMICS suffix, for example, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics others. Almost all OMIC have direct or indirect bearing on many interrelated relevant to integrated molecular pathways systems body organs functioning tissues. The concept multi-OMICS medicine now supported by recurrent outcomes fundamental applied life research. common purpose deliver healthcare precisely possible targeted at specific points in an individual patient thus satisfying requirement personalised medicine. There growing interest evidence integrate traditional ancient like Ayurveda. review provides factual information context evidence-based, ethically sound, precision
