Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most common and aggressive form of brain cancer in adults, characterized by extensive growth, a high recurrence rate, resistance to treatment. Growing research interest focusing on biological roles natural compounds due their potential beneficial effects health. Our aimed investigate lavender essential oil (LEO) GBM cell model. Chemical characterization using GC-MS analysis indicated that LEO contains several terpenes, have been found exhibit anticancer properties interfering with key cancer-related pathways models. By means biology assays, we demonstrated impairs proliferation migration, also reduces oxidative stress U87 cells. We further observed Terpinen-4-ol, contained LEO, was capable reproducing results suggest terpenic molecules present could be considered valuable allies alongside conventional therapies against GBM.

Cancer treatment is challenged by the tumor microenvironment (TME), which promotes drug resistance and cancer cell growth. This review offers a comprehensive innovative perspective on how nanomedicine can modify TME to enhance therapy. Strategies include using nanoparticles improve oxygenation, adjust acidity, alter extracellular matrix, making treatments more effective. Additionally, immune responses activating cells reducing suppression within tumors. By integrating these approaches with existing therapies, such as chemotherapy radiotherapy, show promise in overcoming traditional barriers. The discusses changes effectiveness of itself, creating reciprocal relationship that boosts overall efficacy. This review examines recent advancements in nanoparticle-based delivery systems for phytochemicals, focusing on their role overcoming multidrug resistance, improving therapeutic efficacy, and facilitating clinical translation. highlights advances nanoparticle-enabled phytochemical to enhance bioavailability, improve outcomes, enable targeted applications. By comparing various nanoparticle systems, formulation methods, efficacy data, it identifies gaps current research guides the development of more effective, next-generation phytochemical-loaded nanocarriers. A systematic literature published between 2000 2024 was conducted using PubMed, Scopus, Web Science. Articles cancer therapy were included. Compounds such as curcumin, resveratrol, quercetin, epigallocatechin gallate demonstrate enhanced anti-cancer when encapsulated nanoparticles, leading improved increased tumor cell targeting, reduced toxicity. Clinical trials indicate regression fewer adverse effects. Emerging approaches-such nanogels, hybrid combination therapies with immune checkpoint inhibitors-further refine treatment efficacy. ABSTRACT Background In recent decades, natural compounds have been considered a significant source of new antitumor medicines due to their unique advantages. Several in vitro and vivo studies focused on the effect terpenoids apoptosis mediated by mitochondria malignant cells.
