The current study evaluated the effect of powder fractionation based on particle size chemical composition macronutrients such as proteins and sugars, phytochemical properties (total content polyphenolic compounds, vitamin C, antioxidant activity), preservation capacity (water functional absorption water solubility index), physicochemical (particle distribution moisture content) blackthorn berry (Prunus spinosa) powders. fruits were separated from plant material seeds, dried, then ground using an universal mill for dry materials. Eight fractions obtained after sieving sieves with different mesh sizes, 1 mm, 0.8 0.630 0.450 0.315 0.200 0.125 mm. grinding/sieving procedure was effective in separating Prunus spinosa into sufficiently classes. maximal activity 5.61% 0.250, respectively, showed good a microbiological point view, ensured prevention oxidation biologically active compounds For samples reduced greatly improved. total phenolic content, carbohydrates, significantly values some classes compared to un-sieved sample. A considerable C presented fraction large precisely because they did not undergo intense degradation processes. Therefore, technique grinding successive proved enhancing characteristics powdered berries, particularly smaller particles.

This study was aimed at optimizing the extraction process of phenolic compounds, particularly antioxidants and antimicrobial agents, from apple pomace using subcritical water method. The Box–Behnken experimental design utilized to ascertain optimal conditions, focusing on maximizing yield, compound content, antioxidant activity. Three independent variables were investigated: temperature (120°C, 140°C, 160°C), time (20, 30, 40 min), water‐to‐apple ratio (1:20, 1:40, 1:60 g/mL). optimized yielded a significantly higher efficiency (18.05%), total content (1341.11 mg/100 g), 2,2‐diphenyl‐1‐picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) scavenging capacity (92.39%) compared conventional maceration results aligned well with predicted values obtained model. properties extract assessed against Staphylococcus aureus , Escherichia coli Aspergillus niger through serial dilution concentration 30 mL exhibited superior antifungal antibacterial potassium sorbate (10 mL). research demonstrates potential as sustainable efficient method for extracting compounds pomace, offering promising alternative methods contributing valorization agricultural waste.

Natural and sustainable plant-based antioxidants antimicrobials are highly desirable for improving food quality safety. The present investigation assessed the antimicrobial antioxidant properties of active components from Alkanna tinctoria (herb) roots, also known as Ratanjot root. Two methods were used to extract components: microwave-assisted hot water (MAHW) ethanol air-dried. MAHW yielded 6.29% while 18.27%, suggesting superior root powder (RRP) solubility in over water. showed significantly higher activity than extract.
