The sustainable management of lignocellulosic agricultural waste has gained significant attention due to its potential for the production valuable products. Abstract Biomass processing employing ionic liquids is already an established option at the laboratory scale. Ionic can disrupt and deconstruct lignocellulosic biomass network, giving rise to multiple options for valorisation. However, there still much work remaining accomplish scale-up commercialisation of liquid-based processing.
