Background/Objectives: Migraine and endometriosis are two diseases that associated with women. Endometriosis is a condition exclusively affecting the female population as it affects genital tract, while migraine primary headache disorder having highest prevalence in women of reproductive age. Although, undoubtedly, they distinct disorders, some correlations have been suggested considering epidemiological similarities. Methods: This systematic review aimed to analyze putative links between those diseases. Two databases were searched accordance PRISMA guidelines, which led inclusion 28 most appropriate studies. The was registered PROSPERO. Results: A comprehensive analysis existing literature allowed us distinguish six different aspects: (i) course endometriosis, general, (ii) when comparing patients healthy individuals, (iii) relation types (iv) pain symptoms migraine, finally, (v) molecular (vi) genetic bases suspected correlation. Conclusions: Although not all results definitely apparent, showed higher together than both separately. More precisely, chronic demonstrated be possibly linked endometriosis. Moreover, usually more evident suffering from at time. Finally, suggestions presented due this comorbidity’s bases; however, literature, especially on topic, lacking.

Migraine affects over 1 billion people worldwide and is a leading cause of disability. Targeting the cannabinoid system offers promising approach for pain migraine relief. This study evaluated novel monoacylglycerol lipase (MAGL) inhibitor to prolong endocannabinoid action in acute chronic mouse models migraine. It also examined MAGL receptor (CB1) mRNA expression key head pain-processing regions. C57BL6/J male female mice received human trigger nitroglycerin (NTG) acutely or every other day 9 days. Allodynia was assessed by von Frey hair stimulation periorbital area. A single dose (ABD-1970) tested NTG models. Additionally, ABD-1970 given daily 5 days assess tolerance. In situ hybridization measured transcript MAGL, CB1, neuronal marker Rbfox3 trigeminal ganglia (TG) nucleus caudalis (TNC). injection blocked cephalic allodynia induced NTG. established intermittent Repeated administration did not induce tolerance, continued block NTG-induced after administration. There high CB1 TG TNC, present positive negative cells. effectively migraine-associated pain, likely through prolonged action. effect may be mediated at peripheral central sites considering respectively. The appears modulate mechanisms, target this disorder.

Despite the development of basic principles and a wide arsenal therapeutic preventive agents, effective treatment migraine patients in daily practice is associated with some well-identified obstacles. Among many obstacles to treatment, several key factors can be identified: low patients' awareness nature disease, its course prognosis, methods prevention, rate referral for medical care unsatisfactory level diagnosis clinical practice, inadequate training physicians field headache, nonoptimal use symptom management strategies. The article discusses most common problems strategies optimize patients.

This study updates data on migraine prevalence in Spain, examining regional variations, healthcare resource utilization (HCRU), and patient-reported outcomes (PROs). Cross sectional using from the 2022 National Health Wellness Survey, an online survey of Spanish residents aged 18 or older. Respondents diagnosed with by a physician who reported at least one past year were considered active cases. The included 7,002 respondents, 930 whom had physician-diagnosed migraine. estimated one-year Spain was 13.1% (95% confidence interval [CI] 12.8-13.4%), higher rates females (17.7%, 95% CI 17.2-18.3%) than males (8.2%, 7.8-8.6%). Migraine varied across Spain's regions, ranging 8.1% 5.2-11.0%) Navarre to 19.1% Cantabria 15.6-22.6%). Prevalence highest among individuals earning below median income (14.7%, 14.1-15.4%). In preceding month, 75.3% patients experienced < 4 days, 15.3% 4-9 4.1% 10-14 5.3% ≥15 days. Severe disability 20.4% respondents. One ten people preventive treatment for mean SF-12 scores mental physical health 37.8 42.1, respectively, both general population norm 50. EQ-5D summary score 0.8, indicating reduced quality life PHQ-9 detected severe depressive symptoms 8.8% individuals. Work productivity affected migraine, work loss 35.8%. HCRU 6 months high, 68.4% having visited once practitioner, 14.2% neurologist, 45.6% emergency room, 11.8% being hospitalized. annual cost per person €6,704, primarily driven indirect costs related loss. remains high causing substantial burden representing major public problem. Despite availability effective treatments, their usage is limited. Improving management should be prioritized enhance reduce societal burden.
