Abstract Maintaining a power balance between generation and demand is generally acknowledged as being essential to maintaining system frequency within reasonable bounds. This especially important for linked renewable-based hybrid systems (HPS), where disruptions are more likely occur. paper suggests prominent modified “Fractional order-proportional-integral with double derivative (FOPIDD2) controller” an innovative HPS controller in order navigate these obstacles. The recommended control approach has been validated including wind, reheat thermal, solar, hydro generating, well capacitive energy storage electric vehicle. improved controller’s performance evaluated by comparing it regular FOPID, PID, PIDD2 controllers. Furthermore, the gains of newly structured FOPIDD2 optimized using intended algorithm terms squid game optimizer (SGO). compared benchmarks such grey wolf (GWO) jellyfish search optimization. By characteristics maximum undershoot/overshoot, steadying time, SGO-FOPIDD2 outperforms other techniques. suggested SGO was analyzed its ability withstand influence parameter uncertainties under various loading scenarios situations. Without any complicated design, results show that new can work steadily regulate appropriate coefficient.

The imbalance between generated power and load demand often causes unwanted fluctuations in the frequency tie-line changes within a system. To address this issue, control process known as (LFC) is essential. This study aims to optimize parameters of LFC controller for two-area system that includes reheat thermal generator photovoltaic (PV) plant. An innovative multi-stage TDn(1 + PI) introduced reduce oscillations changes. combines tilt-derivative with an N filter (TDn) proportional-integral (PI) controller, which improves system's response by correcting both steady-state errors rate change. design enhances stability speed dynamic systems. A new meta-heuristic optimization technique called bio-dynamic grasshopper algorithm (BDGOA) used first time fine-tune proposed improve its performance. effectiveness evaluated under various demands, parameter variations, nonlinearities. Comparisons other controllers algorithms show BDGOA-TDn(1 significantly reduces overshoot achieves faster settling times these oscillations. Simulation results demonstrate outperforms conventional controllers, achieving reduction 75%, 60%, lower integral time-weighted absolute error 50% diverse operating conditions, including variations nonlinearities such delays governor deadband effects.

This paper proposes an advanced Load Frequency Control (LFC) strategy for two-area hydro-wind power systems, using a hybrid Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) neural network combined with Genetic Algorithm-optimized PID (GA-PID) controller. Traditional controllers, while extensively used, often face limitations in handling the nonlinearities and uncertainties inherent interconnected leading to slower settling time higher overshoot during load disturbances. The LSTM + GA-PID controller mitigates these issues by utilizing LSTM's capacity learn from historical data gradient descent forecast future disturbances, GA optimizes parameters real time, ensuring dynamic adaptability improved control precision. proposed controller's performance is rigorously tested against both classical controllers through simulations conducted MATLAB/Simulink. results reveal that achieves 2.33-fold reduction compared 4.07-fold Additionally, exhibits 3.27% mechanical output perturbations 3.43% transient changes. The rapid growth in power demand, integration of renewable energy sources (RES), and intermittent uncertainties have significantly challenged the stability reliability interconnected systems. electric vehicles (EVs), with their bidirectional flow, further exacerbates frequency fluctuation system. This study dedicates a novel Fuzzy-Sliding Mode Controller (FSMC) utilized for load (LFC). First, dynamic response has been evaluated by using Sliding (SMC), showcasing its robustness against external disturbances parameter uncertainties. Comparative studies demonstrate that MGOA-tuned achieves faster settling times, reduced overshoot, improved metrics compared conventional state-of-the-art methods. Finally, MATLAB-based simulation results validated real-time implementation on OPAL-RT 4510 platform, confirming practicality proposed methodology addressing modern challenges involving high penetration integration.

In this paper, an improved voltage control strategy for microgrids (MG) is proposed, using artificial neural network (ANN)-based adaptive proportional-integral (PI) controller combined with droop and virtual impedance techniques (VIT). The developed to improve control, power sharing total harmonic distortion (THD) reduction in the MG systems renewable distributed generation (DG) sources. VIT used decouple active reactive power, reduce negative interactions between DG's robustness of system under varying load conditions.
