Introduction Since the first report, primary mediastinal seminoma has a low incidence in population, and it mainly affects young middle-aged men, is clinically rare, accounts for very small proportion of tumors. In this study, we describe case with azoospermia hypothesize that coexistence two disorders may not be coincidence. Case report A 16-year-old man presented chest tightness pain, mass on CT, abnormal 18F-fluoro-deoxyglucose uptake PET-CT scan. By biopsy mass, pathological diagnosis was seminoma. Because chemotherapy included treatment tumor, patient underwent sperm freezing before treatment, considering can affect fertility, but diagnosed azoospermia. Finally, tumor resection postoperative chemotherapy. No recurrence observed at current follow-up. Conclusion Primary confirmed by histopathological examination, surgery chemoradiotherapy are treatments. patients or azoospermia, doctors should aware coexist, especially men who have fertility requirements long-term infertility, examination mediastinum semen lead to unexpected findings treatment. For germ cell tumors, genetic testing great value tumors prediction associated diseases. Future studies exploring potential correlation between will prospective.

Zinc plays a crucial role in spermatogenesis, sperm function, and fertilisation. homeostasis is regulated by ZIP ZnT transporter proteins, which mediate Zn2+ influx efflux across cell membranes. This study analysed total Zn concentration seminal plasma serum of 10 normozoospermic 32 teratozoospermic men involved the process infertility treatment, using inductively coupled mass spectrometry. In addition, expression transporters ZIP6 ZIP14 two was immunofluorescence. Applying Student’s t test Mann–Whitney U test, we found no significant differences concentrations between groups. mainly localised head, with slightly higher immunopositivity than samples, but there statistically difference some samples showed tail, although were samples. The results suggest that serum, ZIP14, do not differ normo- teratozospermic emphasise complex interplay factors underlying male fertility.

Abstract In Italy the fertility rate is very low, and an increasing number of patients are infertile require treatments. The Italian Law concerning safety patient care, professional liability health professionals, indicates that professionals must comply with recommendations set out in guidelines developed by public private bodies institutions, as well scientific societies technical-scientific associations professions, except for specific cases. Unfortunately, no guideline diagnosis management infertility currently available Italy. 2019, Society Human Reproduction pointed need to produce subsequently approved establishment a multidisciplinary multiprofessional working group (MMWG) develop such guideline. Male infertility accounts for approximately 40% of cases. There are many causes male infertility, including environmental factors, age, lifestyle, infections, varicocele, and cancerous pathologies. Severe oligozoospermia, cryptozoospermia, azoospermia (obstructive non-obstructive) identified as severe factor once considered conditions sterility. Today, in vitro fertilization (IVF) techniques the only treatment strategy cases which new methodologies have been developed manipulation spermatozoa to achieve increase success rates. This review is an update techniques, particular sperm selection, emphasizing clinical case-specific methodology. The IVF process related diagnosis, appropriate choice treatment, effective preparation selection. In fact, selecting best guarantee optimal paternal heritage means increasing blastulation, implantation, ongoing pregnancy live birth rates, resulting greater techniques.

A variety of techniques have been employed in the field sperm selection, including methods based on density, morphological characteristics, motility membrane integrity, and surface charge. Among these techniques, density gradient centrifugation (DGC) method stands out as most prevalent widely utilized today. However, this technique involves steps that linked to oxidative stress subsequent cellular damage. Consequently, alternatives DGC are being continuously developed. The recently developed microfluidic chip has also implemented for selection intracytoplasmic injection (ICSI). presents certain disadvantages must be addressed. This chapter evaluates advantages from past present, with a particular focus devices.

Male infertility is a global health issue, with 40–50% attributed to sperm abnormalities. The subjectivity and irreproducibility of existing detection methods pose challenges assessment, making the design automated semen analysis algorithms crucial for enhancing reliability evaluations. This paper proposes comprehensive tracking algorithm (Sperm YOLOv8E-TrackEVD) that combines an enhanced YOLOv8 small object (SpermYOLOv8-E) improved DeepOCSORT (SpermTrack-EVD) detect human in microscopic field view track healthy sample short period effectively. Firstly, we trained model on VISEM-Tracking dataset accurate detection. To enhance objects, introduced attention mechanism, added layer, integrated SPDConv Detect_DyHead modules. Furthermore, used new distance metric method chose IoU loss calculation. Ultimately, achieved 1.3% increase precision, 1.4% recall rate, 2.0% improvement [email protected]:0.95. We applied SpermYOLOv8-E combined SpermTrack-EVD tracking. On dataset, 74.303% HOTA 71.167% MOTA. These results show effectiveness designed Sperm YOLOv8E-TrackEVD approach scenarios.
