One of the many methods that have been utilized in remediation heavy metals is adsorption. This paper focuses specifically on chemically-modified means adsorption using several agricultural wastes as adsorbents for uptake various metal ions. review effect chemical modification ions, it examines progress made over years ions unmodified and wastes. Herein, we described range technologies remediation, wastes, kinetic isotherm studies, associated environmental issues. Our findings revealed best describes process Langmuir followed by Freundlich kinetics was better pseudo-second order model. Also, with respect to energy requirement, such eucalyptus wood/H2O2, Lansium domesticum peel, sugarcane bagasse showed some remarkable promises especially industrial scale-up. As regards toxicity modifying agent, this suggests potassium carbonate should be assisted surface-improving additives a replacement hydroxide. In addition, other chemicals phosphoric acid citric seem promising use modifiers waste they are less toxic. Moreover, observed capacity most higher than biomass owing increase active sites provides. present study provides perspectives understanding effects biomass, identification knowledge gaps directions future research.

An ideal adsorbent must be relatively cheap, abundant, easily undergo modification, and exhibit better removal efficiency. Animal wastes are much adsorbents in comparison with activated carbon respect to being cost-effective their zero regeneration process factor. The review aims report the efficiency of utilized cow-dung based for sequestration a wide spectrum pollutants from aqueous media. It discusses potential utilizing cow dung as cheap effective adsorbent. was observed that dung-based were efficient dyes, heavy metals, other solutions. maximum reported uptake capacity dyes metals 501 mg/g 625.26 Methylene blue lead, respectively, which both carbon. Langmuir Freundlich isotherm models emerged best-fit almost all studies. Based on outcome, pseudo-second-order model kinetic best fit cases. Other adsorption studies such mechanism, thermodynamic modelling, desorption, column adsorption, competitive also included this study.
