Abstract
The
emergence
of
metamaterials
and
their
continued
prosperity
have
built
a
powerful
working
platform
for
accurately
manipulating
the
behavior
electromagnetic
waves,
providing
sufficient
possibility
realization
metamaterial
absorbers
with
outstanding
performance.
However,
composed
metallic
materials
typically
possess
many
unfavorable
factors,
such
as
non‐adjustable
absorption,
easy
oxidation,
low‐melting,
expensive
preparation
costs.
selection
dielectric
provides
excellent
alternatives
due
to
remarkable
properties,
thus
dielectric‐based
(DBMAs)
attracted
much
attention.
To
promote
breakthroughs
in
DBMAs
guide
future
development,
this
work
systematically
deeply
reviews
recent
research
progress
from
four
different
but
progressive
aspects,
including
physical
principles;
classifications,
material
selections
tunable
properties;
technologies;
functional
applications.
Five
types
theories
related
mechanisms,

guided‐mode

are
briefly
outlined
explain
having
near‐perfect
