Biochar is a relatively new development in sustainable agricultural management that can be applied to ameliorate degraded and less fertile soils, especially sandy-textured ones, improve their productivity with respect crop production through improved nutrient availability. However, as the literature has shown, response of soils biochar varies terms effect size direction. Therefore, present study systematically reviewed available evidence synthesize impact amendments on aspects cycle soils.

Poultry farming is one of the most efficient animal husbandry methods and it provides nutritional security to a significant number world population. Using modern intensive techniques, global production has reached 133.4 mil. t in 2020, with steady growth each year. Such however lead environmental footprint. Waste materials such as poultry litter manure can pose serious threat human health, need be managed properly. waste by-products are linked NH3, N2O CH4 emissions, have an impact on greenhouse gas well health. Litter contain pesticide residues, microorganisms, pathogens, pharmaceuticals (antibiotics), hormones, metals, macronutrients (at improper ratios) other pollutants which air, soil water contamination formation antimicrobial/multidrug resistant strains pathogens. Dust emitted from operations contains feather skin fragments, faeces, feed particles, microorganisms pollutants, adversely health farm workers nearby inhabitants. Fastidious odours another problem that adverse quality life surrounding This study discusses current knowledge taking look at solutions for sustainable future.

The present paper reviews the most recent advances regarding effects of chemical and organic fertilizers on soil microbial communities. Based results from articles considered, some details are presented how use various types affects composition activity Soil microbes have different responses to fertilization based differences in total carbon (C), nitrogen (N) phosphorus (P) contents soil, along with moisture presence plant species. These show that changes abundance populations stimulates their growth thanks nutrient supply added. Overall, however, data revealed no significant influence richness diversity bacteria fungi. Instead, individual bacterial or fungal species was sensitive mainly attributed properties induced by fertilization. Among negative fertilization, decrease enzymatic has been highlighted several papers, especially soils received largest amounts together losses matter.

Microalgae express high protein levels and can be produced in contained cultivation systems with low water requirements complete fertilizer use. The production potential is 22–44 tons of per hectare year although the current scale small. Techno economic analyses have shown good for scale-up cost reduction. Large-scale microalgae post-fossil era will rely on capture carbon dioxide from air, or sugars crops. Microalgal amino acid composition matches well food feed, which, combination novel biomass pre-treatment steps, guarantee high-quality microalgal protein. For a broadening species available as single-cell protein, approval required.

Although nitrogen (N) is the most limiting nutrient for agricultural production, its overuse associated with environmental pollution, increased concentration of greenhouse gases, and several human animal health implications. These implications are greatly affected by biochemical transformations losses N such as volatilization, leaching, runoff, denitrification. Half globally produced fertilizers used to grow three major cereals—rice, wheat, maize—and their current level recovery approximately 30–50%. The continuously increasing application fertilizers, despite lower cereals, can further intensify leftover N. To address these implications, improvement in use efficiency (NUE) adopting efficient agronomic practices modern breeding biotechnological tools developing cultivars requires immediate attention. Conventional marker-assisted selection methods be map quantitative trait loci, introgression elite germplasm leads creation better NUE. Moreover, gene-editing technology gives opportunity develop high-yielding improved utilization capacity. reliable cheap include site-specific management, enhanced resource conservation practices, precision farming, nano-fertilizers that help farmers reduce from soil–plant system, thus improving Our review illuminates insights into recent advances local scientific soil crop management technologies, along conventional technologies on how increase NUE linked pollution
