Management of heterogeneous construction, renovation, and demolition (CRD) wood residues in Québec brings into light, a widespread topic under discussion related to their current disposal methods landfills, that may lead environmental concerns. With rising forfeitures from legal standpoint, alternative treatment for CRD wastes are being explored. Thermochemical biomass conversion techniques can be employed depolymerize low-quality end-of-life valorize it bio-based products. Biochar, carbonaceous material obtained through heat the absence oxygen via slow pyrolysis, tailored specific end-use applications hard-to-abate industrial sectors pertinent energy, composite materials, amendments. However, there is scarcity comprehensively understanding pyrolysis projecting biochar product's stability due lack relevant studies frequent inconsistencies amidst currently available methods. Nevertheless, present study, pyrolyzed horizontal tube furnace two scales laboratory conditions. Temperatures ranging 300 800 °C, residence time (BRT) 30-120 min, heating rates 20-55 °C/min, mass feedstock between 100 500 g were operational conditions chosen experimentation. Evaluation was carried out by proximate ultimate analysis, Van-Krevelen plots, TGA/DTG profile, R50 recalcitrance, SEM-EDX, Raman ID/IG Data analysis indicated carbon content (89-90 %), FC (70-74 TSF (73-75 (0.64-0.65), (0.972) increased with an increase BRT (120 min) temperature (800 °C) rendering its utilization metallurgical as reductant. ABSTRACT Superabsorbent polymers (SAPs) can absorb and retain water thousands fold their weight, so it is believed overcome depletion issues. However, the applications are dominantly found in daily consumer goods, while still limited especially agricultural environmental sectors. This review aims to provide insights into preparation, synthesis, key properties, recent applications, challenges of SAPs targeted support sustainability. The resources for synthesis cellulose, chitin, chitosan (as natural‐based), polyacrylate synthetic‐based). Likewise, semi‐synthetic have also been explored by graft copolymerization crosslinking between natural synthetic resources. Several properties absorption capacity, biodegradability, antibacterial capabilities, swelling grain size. It that cellulose‐based high capacity chitosan‐based superior biodegradability polyacrylate‐based eminent capacity. As a further recommendation, from plants or seaweeds be solution replace polymer materials not environmentally friendly supporting sustainable needs. SAPs, including salt resistance, should rectified physicochemical modifications dynamic conditions means soil moisture, salinity, microclimate alterations.

Superabsorbent polymer is a material that can swell hundreds to thousands of times after absorbing moisture. Studies combined the use this in coffee bean drying have not yet been widely disclosed. In study, dryer assisted with superabsorbent (Polydryer) was applied improve performance beans. The materials for hydrogel (polygel) were cassava starch and acrylic acid. Based on polygel heater able alleviate humidity while signifying temperature inside chamber. This condition certainly aided process because it provided greater driving force free bound water diffuse from inner particle environment. Normal intermittent modes also carried out compare performance. normal operation mode required 14 h attain product moisture content below 12%. Meanwhile, mode, where operated merely initial stage, took 72 reach maximal 12% content. Further improvement Polydryer done by using three chambers arranged series operating resulting more efficient system swifter 7 h. results indicated effective be used substitute conventional methods, especially during night‐time rainy season. Besides, dried beans insects, rot, mold, foreign matter specialty grade category.

Rice bran is a promising source of functional food due to its high phenolic content. Microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) has become widely used method for optimizing from rice bran. However, understanding the process using MAE challenging system's complexity. Modeling and simulation are powerful tools provide better how system behaves can be optimized. This study proposes novel approach that combines mechanistic empirical models (gray box) predict content in MAE. It involved different ethanol concentrations (40%, 60%, 80%), microwave application time (1 min, 2 3 min), power (90 W, 180 270 W). The results showed good agreement between experimental computed yields, as indicated by reported statistical parameters gray box model. optimum conditions were reached at 60% concentration, 2-min time, W with 0.534 mg/mL (model) 0.561 or 25.06 mg/g (experiment). Following study, this combined potentially reduce cost required optimization studies extraction.
