Abstract Purpose of Review Urban green spaces provide benefits for human health and well-being, among other properties, thanks to their ability attenuate environmental pollutants. The sound environment is not healthy in most cities, this situation has changed recent decades. These are potential quiet areas with good acoustic quality if they designed planned properly from a multidisciplinary perspective. Although the mitigating effects infrastructure have been extensively studied, application very limited. objective study analyze those characteristics that contribute soundscape and, turn, would give them areas, users, physical environment. Recent Findings Current studies show accurately determine relationship between well-being benefits, it necessary know interaction variables, including soundscape. development ISO/TS 12913-2 promoted consideration use appropriate procedures its evaluation. Summary inclusion epidemiological will improve quantification on citizens. Only global indicators, such as L den (dB), importance variables user activities determination health.

The key component of designing sustainable, enriching, and inclusive cities is public participation. soundscape an integral part immersive environment in cities, it should be considered as a resource that creates the acoustic image for urban environment. For planning professionals, this requires understanding constituents citizens' emergent experience. goal study to present systematic method analyzing crowdsensed data with unsupervised machine learning methods. This applies sound- scape experience collection low threshold aim analyze using methods give insights into perception quality. purpose, qualitative raw audio were collected from 111 participants Helsinki, Finland, then clustered further analyzed. We conclude analysis combined accessible, mobile crowdsensing enable results can applied track hidden experiential phenomena soundscape.

Abstract In recent years, various stakeholders and political decision-makers have recognized the significance of high-quality urban sound environments, stressing need for user-centered trajectories. Despite rising interest in this field, soundscape approach has not yet fully permeated planning design, possibly due to a lack comprehensible guidelines on how implement curate successful designs, attributed on-going developments subject. course Catalogue Soundscape Interventions (CSI) Project, taxonomy eight dimensions was developed serve as an orientation aid practitioners, describing important aspects soundscape-related measures that can be used brief facilitate communication between authorities, consultants, researchers. This study describes theoretical framework and, particular, sequential coding process involved deriving these dimensions, which is based grounded theory. It lists observations limitations resulting builds upon findings critically review revisit existing nomenclature concepts. Finally, qualitative distinction form design pyramid according ascending levels epistemic rigor proposed, differentiate documented practices, may reference point future harmonization standardization.

Studying the impact of various factors on environmental perception is crucial because humans live in an environment where these interact and blend. The thermal-acoustic major factor that affects overall urban parks. This study focuses parks subtropical region, with Xihu Park Fuzhou, China, as research area. Through measurements questionnaires, this explores effects subjective evaluation (thermal assessment, acoustic assessment). results reveal that: (1) a higher temperature significantly increases sensation heat lowers thermal comfort, acceptance, scores. type sound source has significant positive ranking type, greater its assessment. (2) Regarding evaluation, pressure level associated more negative ratings loudness, harshness, intensity, excitement. In contrast, sources can enhance preference, disorder, coordination, soundscape evaluation. Additionally, tend to result coordination ratings. interaction between also intensity. (3) Overall affected by temperature, increasing temperatures leading decreased comfort satisfaction while irritation. High environments worse irritation ratings, irritation, Furthermore, impacts These findings are for managing improving park’s soundscape, providing practical framework landscape architects.
