Abstract Over the past three decades, plasmonic nanostructures, particularly spherical ones, have seen remarkable advancements. Recently, attention has shifted toward anisotropic nanoparticles, especially star‐shaped/branched structures such as nanostars (PNS), due to their distinct properties. PNS offers superior electromagnetic enhancement effects, larger surface areas, and well non‐linear unusual photothermal properties, setting them apart from counterparts. Despite significant progress in synthetic methods characterization of particles, challenges remain transitioning technology into practical use. In this perspective article, distinctive attributes biosensing applications are discussed, beginning with an exploration synthesis methodologies. Their optoelectronic properties examined discussed how these influence interaction different molecules a perspective. Conventional point-of-care lateral flow immunoassays are characterized by an antibody-tagged probe irregular coupling that can limit sensitivity and require a long assay's time. We synthesized polyethylene glycol-modified selenium nanoparticles (PEG-SeNPs) template method developed strategy to set antibody probes targeted orderly using PEG-SeNPs. Synthesized PEG-SeNPs with high stability could immobilize antibodies in the "stand-up" orientation, resulting faster detection time of less than 1 min direct observer visualization without instruments or equipment. Results showed SARS-CoV-2 be systematically structured on chip, 10 pg/mL, significantly higher conventional chips. The new device has been validated 192 clinical samples we found 100% negative coincidence, 93.94% positive 95.83% overall coincidence reverse transcriptional PCR test. arrayed probe's allowed detect throat swabs, saliva, serum, fingertip blood samples, mutant strains cross-reactivity common respiratory viruses pathogenic strains, demonstrating promising potential for universal colorimetric platform ultrafast field-deployable diagnostics.

The COVID-19 pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2 highlighted the importance of reliable detection methods for disease control and surveillance. Optimizing antibodies rational screening antigens would improve sensitivity specificity antibody-based such as colloidal gold immunochromatography. In this study, we screened three peptide with conserved sequences in N protein using bioinformatical structural biological analyses. Antibodies that specifically recognize these peptides were prepared. epitope had highest binding affinity its antibody was located on surface protein, which favorable binding. Using optimal can epitope, developed immunochromatography, detect at 10 pg/mL. Importantly, could effectively both natural antigen mutated showing feasibility being applied large-scale population testing SARS-CoV-2. Our study provides a platform reference significance high sensitivity, specificity, reliability other pathogens.
