Rotating algae biofilm reactors (RABRs) can reduce energy requirements for wastewater reclamation but require further optimization implementation at water resource recovery facilities (WRRF). Optimizing RABR operation is challenging because conditions WRRF change frequently, and disregarding interaction terms related to these changes produce incorrect conclusions about behavior. This study evaluated the two-way main effects of four factors on biomass productivity phosphorus removal efficiency a microalgae-bacteria grown in municipal anaerobic digester centrate, with factor levels operating selected mimic pilot Utah. Two-way interactions harvesting period*light intensity (LI), period*temperature, LI*hydraulic retention time (HRT) had significant productivity: high temperature low LI, highest was achieved 14-day period, medium 7-day period. At HRT, occurred LI. Phosphorus strongly influenced by LI most rapidly during first 2 days which suggests precipitation contributed significantly removal. These observations provide insight optimization.

The potential use of carbon dioxide (CO2) and wastewater released from a mushroom farm for the cultivation Chlorella vulgaris microalga was investigated in this study. For purpose, microcontroller-based aided CO2 capture mixing prototype constructed C. under varying concentrations (0 as control, 50 100%). results showed that helpful to maintain desirable levels (6000 ppm) chamber with constant supply algal culture, i.e., 0.6% at an airflow rate mL/min. After 16 days cultivation, it observed maximum significant (p < 0.05) biomass production 2.550 ± 0.073 mg/L recorded 50% concentration followed by 100% control. Also, removal selected pollutants, such total dissolved solids (84.00 1.37%), biochemical oxygen demand (90.17 2.42%), chemical (91.53 0.97%), nitrogen (86.27 1.60%) phosphorus (94.19 2.33%), achieved treatment first-order (k) values. In addition, growth kinetics logistic model fit best compared modified Gompertz model, based on validation tools, experimental vs. predicted values, coefficient determination (R2 > 0.9938), efficiency (ME 0.98) root mean square error (RMSE 0.03). post-harvest characterization revealed proximate, biochemical, ultimate elements (carbon, nitrogen) structural properties were significantly higher than those control treatments. Therefore, findings study are novel provide insight into synergistic produced farms biological treatment.
