Transport and vehicle traffic are closely connected with particulate matter (PM) pollution, inducing various fractions into the atmosphere, some of them forming significant deposits on surface car. They washed away during carwash-inducing slurries collecting PM deposits, which characteristic a large area. Crystalline was investigated by XRD coupled polarized optical microscopy (POM). This study explores the predictability of monthly asthma notifications using models built from different machine learning techniques in Maceió, a municipality with tropical climate located northeast Brazil. Two sets predictors were combined and tested, first containing meteorological variables pollutants, called exp1, second only variables, exp2. For both experiments, tests also carried out incorporating lagged information time series records. The trained on 80% data validated remaining 20%. Among five methods evaluated—random forest (RF), eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost), Multiple Linear Regression (MLR), support vector (SVM), K-nearest neighbors (KNN)—the RF showed superior performance, notably those exp1 when as an additional predictor.
