Cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE) is an autoimmune disease, which can be limited to the skin or associated with systemic (SLE). Gene expression analysis has revealed that both innate and adaptive immune pathways are activated in CLE. Ultraviolet (UV) light, predominant environmental factor CLE, induces apoptosis keratinocytes, endogenous nucleic acids released from apoptotic cells recognized via pattern recognition receptors, including Toll-like receptors. This leads production of type I interferon, a major contributor pathogenesis by plasmacytoid dendritic cells. UV irradiation also induce externalization autoantigens, such as SS-A/Ro, exposing them circulating autoantibodies. T-helper 1 have been reported play important roles response Other factors CLE include drugs cigarette smoke. Genetic confer predisposition development many susceptibility genes identified. Monogenetic forms exist. article aims review current knowledge about A better understanding environmental, genetic, immunoregulatory drive may provide insights for treatment

Drug-induced lupus erythematosus is an autoimmune disease with unexpected onset after treatment certain drugs.Clinically, this very similar to idiopathic erythematosus, although its manifestations are typically milder. In addition, the laboratory and histological changes of induced forms also not significantly different from condition, sometimes making diagnosis drug-induced form a challenge for clinicians. This entity has been gaining relevance in clinical setting number drugs associated it increasing, mainly due emergence new biological therapies strong causal link lupus, such as tumor necrosis factor-alpha inhibitors. However, there still no universally accepted diagnostic criteria identify disease, information about pathophysiology somewhat scarce, difficult predict most likely culprit before enough reports establish link.In some risk factors have shown susceptibility individuals, they yet fully understood.Given possibility reversal by withdrawal offending drug, extremely important be aware possible implication drug pathogenesis clinicians who approach patients manifestations, particularly cutaneous mandatory look used patient. This review will systematize current knowledge terms pathophysiology, clinical, histopathological, diagnosis, treatment, well commonly implicated drugs.

Bevacizumab, an anti-vascular epidermal growth factor inhibitor, is approved for the treatment of various cancers. Hypertension, gastrointestinal perforation, bleeding manifestations, impaired wound healing, and cerebrovascular accidents are common side effects associated with monoclonal antibody. Uncommon cutaneous reactions like exfoliative dermatitis bevacizumab have been documented in medical literature. We present unusual case bevacizumab-induced lupus a patient metastatic colon cancer that started resolving after discontinuing chemotherapy. Timely intervention was key preventing progression this chemotherapy-induced lupus.

Annular dermatoses are a heterogeneous and extremely diverse group of skin diseases, which share in common annular, ring-like patterns with centrifugal spreading. Numerous diseases can sometimes display annular lesions, but some specific conditions originally annular. We take the opportunity to review here mainly causes primary erythemas their differential diagnoses, also rare purpuras.

Drug-induced lupus (DIL) usually presents after starting a medication known to induce DIL. However unusual presentations are rare, as such, our patient presented with initial signs and symptoms of pericarditis. Once treated he progressively declined angioedema worsening cardiopulmonary status. On first admission, the chest pain that was worsened by laying down improved sitting up. CT Angiography (CTA) showed mild pericardial effusion, EKG diffuse ST elevation, both suggestive pericarditis, for which discharged on colchicine. The readmitted one day later swelling neck tongue. re-evaluated, tested autoantibodies, found positive antinuclear antibody (ANA) suggesting diagnosis lupus, most likely due hydralazine. We report rare presentation drug-induced initially presenting pericarditis evolved into has not been reported in literature thus far. Pericarditis may be lupus. Antinuclear anti-histone antibodies highly sensitive specific respectfully Early time-appropriate discontinuation offending agent patients can life-saving.
