As important recreational spaces for urban residents, microgreen parks enhance the living environment and alleviate psychological pressure on residents. The visual, auditory, olfactory senses are crucial forms of perception in human interaction with nature, sustainable perceptual design miniature green under their has become a recent research hotspot. This study aimed to investigate effects acoustic, environments (e.g., aromatic vegetation) parks. Participants were evenly divided into eight groups, including single-sensory multi-sensory control group. Eye-tracking technology, blood monitoring, Semantic Differential (SD) scales Profile Mood State (POMS) used assess effectiveness physical mental recovery each results revealed that an space relatively low ambient noise, visual–auditory, visual–olfactory, visual–auditory–olfactory interactive stimuli more effective promoting visual attention than single stimuli. Additionally, able optimize quality spatial by using positive sensory inputs effectively mask negative experiences. Simultaneously, high proportion natural sounds had strongest stimuli, visual–auditory group, systolic at S7 heart rate S9 significantly decreased (p < 0.05), reductions 18.60 mmHg 20.15 BPM, respectively. Aromatic sources relaxation compared other sources, 24.40 0.01) marigolds, 23.35 small-leaved boxwood, 27.25 0.05) camphor trees. Specific auditory conditions could guide focus, such as birdsong directing trees, insect drawing herbaceous plants, floral scents attracting focus flowers, leaf prompting observation wider range vegetation. In summary, significant differences exist between experiences modes Compared silent odorless environment, integration acoustic elements broadened scope attention, perception, combination tree best effect recovery, thereby improving

The COVID-19 pandemic has reshaped our daily lives and the way we interact with urban green–blue spaces (UGBS), particularly in economically challenged regions of Northwest China. Our study, utilizing surveys social media, delves into pandemic’s impact on UGBS engagement this area, offering critical insights for planning amidst a global health crisis. We found gender-balanced but preference-specific UGBS, women married couples Chengguan District Lanzhou city showing affinity. Moreover, educational levels proximity to academic institutions emerged as key factors influencing use, pointing importance attainment diversity. Enhancing safety, creating child-friendly leisure facilities families, designing vibrant socializing are vital, placing near districts could also promote environmental awareness scientific learning. Furthermore, public priorities, elevating value accessible, safe UGBS. This shift is evidenced by varied motivations visits, an emphasis health, nature connectivity, leisure. Women, older adults, each their distinct reasons, were drawn activities ranging from recreation relaxation. findings advocate creation multifunctional that cater these interests, incorporating features such air-purifying plants, scenic pathways, zones family activities, all underpinned enhanced safety accessibility. study highlights transportation preferences among residents Chengguan’s northern southern parts, suggesting tailored approach infrastructure accommodates pedestrian access transit use. To prevent overcrowding, adjusting facility hours event timings based peak visitation times recommended. improving walkways transport connectivity essential not just convenience ensuring green equitable financially fostering inclusive areas. During pandemic, media revealed growing search spiritual fulfillment within highlighting societal well-being coping mechanisms. In response, there’s compelling opportunity evolve designated areas relaxation, along mental support services. By actively monitoring feedback trends, can adapt refine offerings, they meet community’s changing needs more effectively. tailoring diverse community needs, especially during crises. It emphasizes multifunctional, accessible reflect demographic habits, preferences, aiming boost resilience well-being. Drawing research conducted worldwide crisis, provides recommendations future evolution urging environments bolster populations.
