As the coronavirus pandemic spreads, measures to contain it—such as home confinement, social isolation, closure of businesses and educational institutions, remote work—have affected everyday life. Further, some voices were worried about these measures' psychological, social, economic impacts on food-related activities practices. These are presumably context-specific differ from one region another. In this regard, example Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, a group high-income food-secure countries, is particularly intriguing. This narrative review aims explore psychological socio-economic effects COVID-19 (e.g., food procurement, preparation, consumption) in GCC area. Agri-food systems (AFS) have been central in the debate on sustainable development. Despite this growing interest AFS, comprehensive analyses of scholarly literature are hard to find. Therefore, present systematic review delineated contours research strand and analyzed how it relates sustainability. A search performed Web Science January 2020 yielded 1389 documents, 1289 were selected underwent bibliometric topical analyses. The analysis was informed by SAFA (Sustainability Assessment Food Agriculture systems) approach FAO structured along four dimensions viz. environment, economy, society culture, policy governance. shows an increasing AFS with exponential increase publications number. However, study field is north-biased dominated researchers organizations from developed countries. Moreover, suggests that while environmental aspects sufficiently addressed, social, economic, political ones generally overlooked. paper ends providing directions for future listing some topics be integrated into a comprehensive, multidisciplinary agenda addressing multifaceted (un)sustainability AFS. The COVID-19 pandemic led to an economic crisis and health emergency, threatening energy efficiency consumption, sustainable food diversity, households’ nutrition security. literature documented that environmental threats can divert attention from renewable security challenges affect humans’ behaviors. has consistently influenced behaviors, as it primarily decreased income disrupted systems worldwide. This study investigated the consequences on household income, nutritional challenges. used a self-structured online survey due non-pharmaceutical restrictions collected data 728 households. investigators applied t-test logit regression analyze for drawing results. <abstract> <p>The unprecedented challenges posed by the global COVID-19 pandemic have significantly impacted various sectors, with agri-food system proving especially vulnerable to disruptions. Ensuring food security and bolstering resilience of systems in aftermath has emerged as a crucial concern. Utilizing PRISMA protocol, this systematic literature review systematically searched relevant databases repositories using specific keywords related pre post-pandemic context. The final incorporated 37 articles. results revealed that profoundly all facets sector, particularly systems. Despite this, we identified several measures were implemented or recommended mitigate disruptions caused ensure sector for future similar events. Robust policy measures, promotion urban agriculture, support small-scale farmers, enhancement international market, technological innovations, collaborations, research development, novel foods highlighted measures. Policymakers, researchers, stakeholders are urged adopt comprehensive approach encompassing these build resilient secure era.</p> </abstract>

Summary Food accessibility was considerably impacted by restrictions during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19) pandemic, leading to growth in online food retail sector, which offered contact‐free delivery. This systematic review aimed assess change use of platforms COVID‐19. Nine electronic databases were searched between January 2020 October 2023. Studies that reported frequency or groceries, meal delivery applications, meal‐kit services before pandemic included. A total 53 studies identified, 46 cross‐sectional studies, 4 qualitative 2 longitudinal cohort 1 mixed‐methods study. Overall, 96% (43/45) outcomes showed an increase groceries COVID‐19, while 55% (22/40) a decrease applications. Eight nine gain emotional eating. The Serbian government has taken several measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. These may have led a disruption daily life and affected food-related behaviors. This paper investigates state food waste management in Serbia COVID-19's direct effect on consumer awareness, consumption, study is based an online survey using structured questionnaire administered from May 13 until June 13, 2020, through Google forms platform. A total 1212 valid answers were collected, mainly female, young, high-educated people. results suggested that (i) household low there positive attitude toward prevention; (ii) increased during COVID-19 pandemic; (iii) consumers reduced number shopping trips shopped more than usual pandemic. contributes better understanding consumers' consumption habits attitudes reduce it.

Bosnia and Herzegovina has responded to the COVID-19 pandemic by implementing quarantine other social distancing measures.
