Exosomes are a subset of extracellular vesicles (EVs) secreted by nearly all cell types and have emerged as novel mechanism for intercellular communication within the central nervous system (CNS). These facilitate transport proteins, nucleic acids, lipids, metabolites between neurons glial cells, playing pivotal role in CNS development maintenance homeostasis.
