It was reported that metabolic syndrome increases the risk for cognitive impairment and circadian rhythm may influence cognition behavior. Identifying potential factors is essential to screen individuals with neuronal dysfunction, loss, decline prevent dementia development. We clarified participants by presence of (MetS) (CircS) employed three multivariable Generalized Estimating Equation (GEE) models control confounding estimate β values function using as referents those had neither MetS nor CircS at baseline. The consists episodic memory executive estimated via modified Telephone Interview Cognitive Status (TICS) every two years until 2015.The mean age 58.80 (8.93) 49.92% (male). prevalence 42.98% 36.43%, respectively. 1,075 (11.00%) 435 (4.45%) either or alone 3,124 (31.98%) both MetS. Participants compared normal a significantly decreased score during 4-years cohort (β = -0.32, 95% CI: -0.63, -0.01) complete model, well among who suffered from -0.82, -1.47, -0.16), while not 0.13, -0.27, 0.53). Specifically, population lower discovered in -0.51, -0.95, -0.07), slightly -0.33, -0.68, alone.Individuals have high impairment. association even stronger than CircS, suggesting probably functioning could be better predictor

Approximately half of adolescents encounter a mismatch between their sleep patterns on school days and free days, also referred to as "social jetlag." This condition has been linked various adverse outcomes, such poor sleep, cognitive deficits, mental disorders. However, prior research was unsuccessful in accounting for other variables that are correlated with social jetlag, including duration quality. To address this limitation, we applied propensity score matching method sample 6335 11-12-year-olds from the 2-year follow-up (FL2) data Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development study. We identified 2424 pairs participants high sleep-corrected jetlag (SJLsc, over 1 hour) low SJLsc (<= at FL2 (1728 have neuroimaging data), well 1626 3-year (FL3), after based 11 covariates socioeconomic status, demographics, Our results showed SJLsc, measured by Munich Chronotype Questionnaire, reduced crystallized intelligence (CI), lower performance-grades, decreased functional connectivity cortical networks subcortical regions, specifically cingulo-opercular network right hippocampus. Further mediation longitudinal analyses revealed connection mediated associations CI FL2, grades both FL3. validated these findings replicating using objective measurements obtained via Fitbit watches. Overall, our study highlights negative association during early adolescence.
