Salmonella contamination in poultry feed is one of the main issues industry and public health. The aim present study was molecular detection typing serotypes isolated from feeds. Moreover, we determined antibiotic resistance pattern ability biofilm formation serotypes. To this end, eighty samples were collected aviculture depots. identified by culture PCR methods. For serological identification, a slide agglutination test used. BOXAIR rep-PCR methods applied to evaluate diversity disc diffusion method performed susceptibility sixteen antibiotics. Biofilm also assessed microtiter-plate test. From total 80 samples, 30 contaminated with spp., which divided into 5 different belonging B, C, D serogroups. BOXAIR-PCR (D value [DI] 0.985) (DI 0.991) fingerprinting isolates revealed 23 19 reproducible fingerprint patterns, respectively. A higher observed ampicillin doxycycline (100% each), followed chloramphenicol (83.33%) tetracycline (73.33%). Multidrug (MDR) detected all Half possessed varied adhesion strengths. These results high unexpected prevalence MDR ability. feeds subsequently indicated variation source spp. unknown sources harboring poor control, could cause problems for manufacturing.

This review aimed to assess the scope of literature on tracking microbial community biofilms, focusing dairy farm and processing environments. The majority studies focused either production, storage, transport or milk, while 5 combined investigation both production facilities. Factors influencing short-term changes in microbiota such as occurrence mastitis season were distinguished from factors revealed through long-term studies, feed weather, rather than milking equipment. Knowledge gaps identified relation study design, methods, data analysis interpretation. application DNA sequencing technologies is particularly challenging with respect samples low load (milk, swabs). There are few composition situ which might require new for detection before sampling. Fundamental structure biofilms needed identify on-farm practices impacting cycle biofilm development systems.

Astronauts are spending longer periods locked up in ships or stations for scientific and exploration spatial missions. The International Space Station (ISS) has been inhabited continuously more than 20 years the duration of space stays by crews could lengthen with objectives human presence on moon Mars. If environment these habitats is designed comfort astronauts, it also conducive to other forms life such as embarked microorganisms. latter, most often associated surfaces form biofilm, have implicated significant degradation functionality pieces equipment habitats. recent research suggests that microgravity increase persistence, resistance virulence pathogenic microorganisms detected communities, endangering health astronauts potentially jeopardizing long-duration manned In this review, we describe mechanisms dynamics installation propagation microbial communities (spatial migration), well long-term processes adaptation evolution extreme environments (phenotypic genetic special reference health. We discuss means control envisaged allow a lasting cohabitation between vibrant microscopic passengers astronauts.

Bacillus subtilis can form various types of spatially organised communities on surfaces, such as colonies, pellicles and submerged biofilms. These share similarities differences, phenotypic heterogeneity has been reported for each type community. Here, we studied spatial transcriptional across the three surface-associated communities. Using RNA-seq analysis different regions or populations community type, identified genes that are specifically expressed within selected population. We constructed fluorescent fusions 17 these genes, observed their expression in biofilms using time-lapse confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM). found mosaic patterns some genes; particular, segregated cells displaying opposite regulation carbon metabolism (gapA gapB), indicative distinct glycolytic gluconeogenic regimes coexisting same biofilm region. Overall, our study provides a direct comparison heterogeneity, at scales, main models B.

Hygiene programs which comprise the cleaning and sanitization steps are part of Good Practices (GHP) considered essential to ensure food safety quality. Inadequate hygiene practices may contribute occurrence foodborne diseases, development microbial resistance sanitizers, economic losses. In general, sanitizer is classified as intrinsic or acquired. The former an inherent characteristic, naturally present in some microorganisms, whereas latter linked genetic modifications that can occur at random after continuous exposure a nonnormal condition. mechanisms involve changes membrane permeability efflux pump, enzymatic activity. pump mechanism most elucidated relation caused by use different types sanitizers. addition, sanitizers also be favored presence biofilms due protection given glycocalyx matrix changes. Therefore, this review aimed show main including modifications, biofilm formation, barrier.

The increasing misuse of antibiotics in human and veterinary medicine agroecosystems the consequent selective pressure resistant strains lead to multidrug resistance (AMR), an expanding global phenomenon. Indeed, this phenomenon represents a major public health target with significant clinical implications related increased morbidity mortality prolonged hospital stays. current presence microorganisms multi-resistant isolated patients is problem because additional burden disease it places on most fragile difficulty finding effective therapies. In recent decades, international organizations like World Health Organization (WHO) European Centre for Disease Prevention Control (ECDC) have played roles addressing issue AMR. ECDC estimates that Union alone, antibiotic causes 33,000 deaths approximately 880,000 cases disability each year. epidemiological impact AMR inevitably also has direct economic consequences not only loss life but reduction number days worked, use healthcare resources diagnostic procedures second-line when available. 2015, WHO, recognising as complex can be addressed by coordinated multi-sectoral interventions, promoted One approach considers human, animal, environmental integrated manner. review, authors try address why collaboration all stakeholders involved growth management necessary order achieve optimal people, animals, plants, environment, highlighting growing threat animal health, food safety security, prosperity, ecosystems worldwide.
