Heart aging involves a complex interplay of genetic and environmental influences, leading to gradual deterioration cardiovascular integrity function. Age-related physiological changes, including ventricular hypertrophy, diastolic dysfunction, myocardial fibrosis, increased arterial stiffness, endothelial are influenced by key mechanisms like autophagy, inflammation, oxidative stress. This review aims explore the therapeutic potential plant-derived bioactive antioxidants in mitigating heart aging. These compounds, often rich polyphenols, flavonoids, other phytochemicals, exhibit notable antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, cardioprotective properties. substances have intricate properties, ability scavenge ROS, enhance endogenous antioxidant defenses, regulate signaling pathways, impede fibrosis inflammation-promoting processes. By focusing on molecular linked cardiac aging, produced from plants provide significant promise reduce age-related decline improve general health. Through comprehensive analysis preclinical clinical studies, this work highlights associated with promising effects antioxidants. The findings may helpful for researchers identifying specific molecules preventive heart.

Abstract Objective This study aimed to assess the potential antifibrotic impact of zinc sulfate in chronic Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) patients receiving direct-acting antiviral therapy. Methods randomized controlled included 50 HCV-infected with fibrosis stage (F1 & F2). Participants were randomly assigned two groups: Group 1 (Control group, n = 25) received standard therapy for 3 months, while 2 (Zinc mg/day addition same duration. Baseline and 3-month post-intervention assessments evaluating serum levels hyaluronic acid, transforming growth factor beta-1, fibronectin. Furthermore, indices liver fibrosis, such as Fibrosis Index based on 4 factors (FIB-4) Aspartate Transaminase-to-Platelet-Ratio (APRI), calculated during these assessments. Results At baseline, studied groups had no statistical difference demographic laboratory data. After treatment, significantly increased zinc-treated group compared control group. Additionally, fibronectin acid reduced (zinc group) (control group). Moreover, showed lower APRI scores than after a follow-up period, but there was non-significant FIB-4 between treatment. total bilirubin months. Conclusions Administering could potentially serve safe efficient therapeutic strategy management hepatic individuals hepatitis virus. Trial Registration ClinicalTrials.gov identifier: NCT05465434, On 19/7/2022.

Cirrhotic portal hypertension, the most prevalent and clinically significant complication of liver cirrhosis, manifests as elevated venous pressure is associated with severe complications. Although much research on mechanisms hypertension has focused fibrosis, less attention been given to role intrahepatic extrahepatic vascular dysfunction, particularly respect vasculature. While hepatic fibrosis in cirrhotic undeniable, underlying involving vasculature are highly complex. Sinusoidal capillarization endothelial dysfunction contribute increased resistance. Hemodynamic changes circulation, including splanchnic vasodilation hyperdynamic play a development hypertension. Additionally, therapeutic strategies targeting these diverse, improvement sinusoidal microcirculation, therapies stellate cells activation, pharmacological modulation systemic tone. Therefore, this review, we will discuss vascular-related treatment progress cirrhosis provide new theoretical basis practical guidance for clinical treatment.

Background: Liver fibrosis is a prevalent, chronic inflammatory condition characterized by the excessive accumulation of extracellular matrix components and, primarily, collagen in liver. Huo-xue-shen (HXS) has proven effective for treatment liver fibrosis. However, mechanism yet to be deciphered. Methods: Network pharmacology, machine learning algorithms and RNA-seq were used predict immune-treated targets mechanisms associated with HXS Molecular docking was employed screen agents based on drug-compound-hub gene network HXS, aiming identify most critical bioactive compound Results: A total 100 (ITTs) found significantly regulate PI3K-Akt signaling pathway MAPK pathway. Among these, CDKN1A, NR1I3, TUBB1, which can concurrently interact quercetin, prognosis fibrosis, indicating that may inhibit or reverse HSC activation primarily suppressing neutrophil trap formation, stimulating oxidative phosphorylation promoting thyroid hormone synthesis regulation microenvironment. Conclusions: Our study suggests delay progression targeting multiple pathways, as shown pharmacology transcriptome profiling examine immune environment. Quercetin, its key ingredient, likely plays an important role mediating TUBB1 pathways. Overall, our findings provide new perspective potential biological this traditional Chinese medicine formula.

The liver is the most common site of metastasis colorectal cancer (CRC), and one major causes CRC-related deaths worldwide. tumor microenvironment, particularly extracellular matrix (ECM), plays a critical role in CRC chemoresistance. Based on findings from clinical basic research, this review attempts to offer complete understanding ECM suggest potential ways for therapeutic intervention. First, ECMs’ regulating cell fate explored. We then discuss hepatic fingerprint its influence metastatic behavior cells, highlighting key molecular interactions that promote metastasis. In addition, we examine how changes within niche contribute chemoresistance, focusing remodeling by stiffening activation specific signaling pathways. Understanding these mechanisms crucial development novel strategies overcome improve outcomes patients.

This review aims to explore the research progress and application prospects of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in treatment ischemic cardiomyopathy (ICM). ICM is a severe heart disease characterized by death myocardial due long-term ischemia, leading impaired function. MSCs have become one promising therapeutic methods for treating their unique anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptotic, immunomodulatory, pro-angiogenic properties. Studies shown that can improve function promoting neovascularization, reducing cell apoptosis, inhibiting inflammatory responses, regulating immune reactions. Additionally, be sourced from various tissues, including bone marrow, adipose tissue, umbilical cord/placenta, with different sources possessing distinct characteristics effects. Clinical studies indicated MSC therapy physical capacity left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) patients intractable angina, enhance perfusion overall infarction. However, issues such as mechanisms MSCs, optimal source, infusion routes, dose optimization still require further research. Future need address these transform clinical trials routine practice, thereby revolutionizing management prognosis ICM.
