Precision psychiatry has emerged as part of the shift to personalized medicine and builds on frameworks such U.S. National Institute Mental Health Research Domain Criteria (RDoC), multilevel biological “omics” data and, most recently, computational psychiatry. The is prompted by realization that a one-size-fits all approach inadequate guide clinical care because people differ in ways are not captured broad diagnostic categories. One first steps developing this treatment was use genetic markers pharmacotherapeutics based predictions pharmacological response or non-response, potential risk adverse drug reactions. Advances technology have made greater degree specificity precision potentially more attainable. To date, however, search for largely focused parameters. Psychiatric disorders involve multi-level dynamics require measures phenomenological, psychological, behavioral, social structural, cultural dimensions. Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a heterogeneous clinical syndrome with widespread subtle neuroanatomical correlates. Our objective was to identify the dimensions that characterize MDD and predict treatment response selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressants or placebo. In COORDINATE-MDD consortium, raw MRI data were shared from international samples (

Abstract The heterogeneity in recovery outcomes for individuals with First Episode Psychosis (FEP) calls a strong evidence base to inform practice at an individual level. Between 19–89% of young people FEP have incomplete despite gold-standard evidence-based treatments, suggesting current service models, which adopt ‘one-size fits all’ approach, may not be addressing the needs many psychosis. lack consistent terminology define key concepts such as and treatment resistance, multidimensional nature these concepts, common comorbid symptoms are some challenges faced by field delineating outcomes. robust markers also results potential delay delivering prompt, effective treatments greatest risk. There is clear need stratified approach care where interventions targeted subgroups patients, ultimately Novel machine learning, using large, representative data from range modalities, aid parsing heterogeneity, provide greater precision sophistication identifying those on pathway recovery.

ABSTRACT Neuroimaging research in the field of schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders has sought to investigate neuroanatomical markers, relative healthy control groups. In recent decades, a large number structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies have been funded undertaken, but their small sample sizes heterogeneous methods led inconsistencies across findings. To tackle this, efforts made combine datasets sites. The heterogeneity of major depressive disorder (MDD) has hindered clinical translation and neuromarker identification. Biotyping facilitates solving the problems heterogeneity, by dissecting MDD patients into discrete subgroups. However, interindividual variations suggest that depression may be conceptualized as a "continuum," rather than "category." We use Bayesian model to decompose structural MRI features from multisite cross-sectional cohort three latent disease factors (spatial pattern) continuum factor compositions (individual expression). are associated with distinct neurotransmitter receptors/transporters obtained open PET sources.
