This review offers contemporary exploration sludge pyrolysis, emphasizing generation crucial solid fraction, namely biochar. delves into physio-chemical attributes biochar, encompassing elemental composition, specific surface area, pore size volume, functional groups, morphology, heavy metal content. Furthermore, study discusses recent advancements adsorption capabilities sludge-derived specifically removing metals, emerging pollutants, dyes from wastewater, along with carbon capture. proves both pollutant removal effective management large volumes. Despite these advancements, research field warrants further attention, particularly addressing technological features sustainability considerations.
