Urban green roofs have emerged as an innovative nature-based solution for enhancing urban sustainability and resilience. Based on the Web of Science Core Collection database, scholarly papers published in past two decades were analyzed quantitatively visualized using bibliometric techniques. The study scope covered research countries, institutions, main journals, crucial authors, highly cited documents, hot topics, frontiers. 3210 publications mined from bibliographic database increased progressively period, with a significantly faster pace recent years. subjects changed gradually over time, extending into more disciplines becoming decidedly multidisciplinary. notable features registered pronounced spatial concentration outputs small number regions, researchers, mainly associated developed metropolises. citation impacts identified world’s top ten researchers journals. Well-defined clusters depicted by knowledge graphs indicated diverse range strength inter-node connections topics defined keywords. focuses quantifying benefits costs optimizing designs to maximize biodiversity, hydrologic, thermal, energy climate-adaptation solutions. Emerging should enhance biodiversity through optimal plant selection, integrate renewable systems sustainability, apply computational tools designs, evaluate low-cost locally relevant design options developing cities, quantify co-benefits like stormwater reduction savings. Multidisciplinary efforts leveraging simulations, ecosystem services valuation, participatory community partnerships can advance context-appropriate roof innovation evidence-based policymaking expand adoption cities worldwide. Quantifying communicating are critical measures drive wider implementation.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to evaluate the sustainability performance modular construction from a life cycle perspective. So far, buildings has been explored viewpoint. There no comprehensive showing which material best choice for considering all three sustainable pillars. Therefore, framework, including three-pillar evaluation was developed different buildings. materials are concrete, steel and timber constructed as method. Design/methodology/approach Transitioning built environment circular economy vital achieving goals. Modular perceived future industry, in combination with objective sustainability, it still phase. A assessment, includes cost social selected alternative constructing case building using strategies. Subsequently, multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) method used compute outranking scores each component. Findings calculated embodied impacts global warming potential (GWP) showed that production most critical phase (65%–88% energy 64%–86% GWP). result GWP shows an ideal choice. Timber 21% 11% lower than concrete steel, respectively. structure also 19% 13% steel. However, economic analysis revealed economical calculations indicate exhibits total by 4% compared higher structures. assessment suggests emerges optimal when contrasted concrete. Consequently, determining single becomes challenging. To address this, MCDM technique identify Through analysis, demonstrates overall performance. Originality/value This research valuable professionals gives deliberate framework buildings’ assists materials.

Despite the increasing number of studies analysing sustainability performance in energy-related field, most existing papers present results particular dimensions separately. A methods have been identified to integrate individual LCSA indicators and determine one final score which could be a relevant support for decision-makers rank scenarios being compared at interpretation phase. In current stage, none proposed seem leading position. The integration still suffers from lack harmonisation concerning selection definition impact categories analysed, as well specific procedures that would allow reliably compared. often assume arbitrarily determined weights importance aggregating environmental, economic social scores, can raise controversy. development noncontroversial is also recommended perspective future standardisation.

The study of green roofs is an interdisciplinary field recognized for its eco-friendly roofing solutions. Green offer ecological, economic, and societal benefits, making them ef- fective way to address urbanization's negative impacts. This review explores the evolution from ancient prototypes modern innovations. Using Google Scholar da- tabase, we conducted a bibliometric analysis 50 articles assess publication rates in "green roof " area. Descriptive statistics were used identify key contributors, ecosystem ser- vices, research methodologies, spatial scales studies. Our showed rise on technology early 21st century, with United States China leading this research. Urban heat island mitigation emerged as primary focus roofs, cities being most studied scale. common keywords roofs," "urban," "energy." thoroughly reviews past present state showcasing range indicators that provide valuable insights future emerging trends
