Studying the spatiotemporal heterogeneity of environmental regulations on high-quality regional economic development is enormous practical value in context sustainable economic, social, and development. Only a few studies, however, examined regulation affecting from standpoint upgrading industrial structure. This research investigated spatial distribution traits based construction comprehensive assessment index system for The geography-nested Durbin model then used to perform an empirical test. findings demonstrate that (1) has visible heterogeneity, with strong local agglomeration between regions; (2) modernization structure are significant variables influencing development, but their not balanced; (3) policies promote through distinct channel. Formal promotes rationalizing structure, while informal does so Further, both kinds have positive spillover effects adjacent areas. Therefore, great significance promoting economies.

As cities worldwide implement strategies to accelerate the transition toward a circular economy (CE), there is an increasing need for tools monitor progress. However, standardised metric CE monitoring in urban areas lacking. This study examines potential of EU Circular Economy Monitoring Framework (CEMF), established indicator-based framework measuring national- and EU-level circularity performance, as tool areas. For this purpose, available data sources that can support framework's application at level are mapped, quality assessed following pedigree matrix approach. Next, CEMF indicators computed area Umeå, Sweden. The mapping showed limited availability urban-level data, necessitating downscaling national-level using proxy factors. Most high quality, while reduced when used compute level. Umeå indicates where municipality performs well, though further improvements needed. We conclude has CEMF's scope recommended.

Rapid urbanization and industrialization with their negative repercussions draw attention to the need for urban sustainability. This research built on systems understanding linked resource utilization, environmental effects, people-environment interactions, adaptive management by integrating quantitative modelling of metabolism a qualitative investigation into human responses. A hybrid methodology was applied in typical industrial city Jinchang, China, which exemplified model how complex dynamics link inform sustainability transitions. The study found that Jinchang City had taken an unsustainable trajectory underpinned continuous growth material consumption, whereas potential transitions also observed decoupled outputs, improved efficiency, environment regeneration collectively. challenges cities have been framed terms development lock-in, conceptual institutional constraints, innovation capital deficiencies, governance failure. proposed government-led transformation system integrates multi-level multi-perspective transformations employing discipline insights facilitate involves governance, economic technological innovations, social transformations, implementations, public engagement are essential elements adapting undesirable difficulties exploring locally appropriate strategies. provided theoretical empirical basis along scientific policy implications, contributed developing interdisciplinary knowledge real-world solutions.
