A Social Media Analysis of the Experiences of Chinese Early Childhood Educators and Families with Young Children during COVID-19

This
study
used
a
small
stories
research
narrative
paradigm
to
examine
social
media
posts
that
focused
on
efforts
sustain
the
delivery
of
early
childhood
education
during
COVID.
Inductive
and
deductive
content
analysis
1303
from
177
government
officials
1126
individual
users
(including
preschools,
kindergartens,
teachers,
parents).
The
results
include
an
conversational
data
document
implementation
national
policy
promote
continuity
young
children’s
learning,
including
digital
resources
used,
learning
content,
teaching
approaches.
Actor-centric
contextual
factors
determined
success
delivering
instruction
remotely;
however,
other
components
created
conditions
necessitated
adaptation
instruction.
COVID
outbreak
(chrono-level)
led
shifts
in
informed
(macro-level),
influenced
teachers’
parents’
work
contexts
(exo-level),
enhanced
home-school
collaboration
(meso-level),
required
technological
solutions
support
(micro-level).
Contributions
theory,
methodology,
practice
are
discussed.

Gratitude
is
a
moral
virtue
that
valued
by
many
cultures,
including
the
Chinese
culture.
While
COVID-19
pandemic
has
affected
children’s
lives,
early
childhood
practitioners
argue
crisis
offers
rewarding
opportunity
for
gratitude
education.
However,
empirical
studies
reveal
practices
regarding
education
in
kindergartens
China
are
rare.
Framed
sociocultural
perspective
and
Confucianism,
this
study
analysed
100
WeChat
official
service/subscription
account
(WOSA)
articles,
aiming
to
understand
educational
during
pandemic.
Through
use
of
content
analysis
discourse
analysis,
it
was
found
guided
children
express
‘anti-pandemic
heroes’
via
multiple
modalities.

on
an
in-depth
discussion,

The
COVID-19
pandemic
has
presented
unprecedented
challenges
for
people,
including
young
children.
This
study
focuses
on
how
teachers
and
parents
foster
children's
prosocial
behaviours
during
online
learning
amidst
the
pandemic.
Data
were
sourced
from
100
articles
WeChat
Official
Service/Subscription
Accounts
(WOSA)
–
a
popular
Chinese
social
media
platform
semi-structured
interviews
with
three
six
parents,
analyzed
using
content
reflexive
thematic
analysis
methods,
respectively.
key
findings
reveal
that
children
demonstrated
increased
pandemic-related
behaviours,
as
result
of
specific
strategies
implemented
by
both
within
their
sociocultural
environment.
These
emphasize
importance
digital
platforms
collaborative
practices
in
supporting
development
crisis,
offering
insights
shaping
educational
policies
practices.
Future
research
could
explore
long-term
impact
pandemic-relevant
well-being
across
diverse
cultural
contexts.

Online
brand
communities
(OBCs)
could
benefit
firms
in
many
usages,
ranging
from
collecting
consumers’
suggestions
or
advice
to
interacting
with
community
members
directly
and
transparently.
Creating
a
positive
emotional
atmosphere
is
essential
for
such
communities’
healthy
development
as
its
boosts
the
continuous
involvement
of
each
member.
However,
dynamic
cross-influences
evolution
emotions
OBCs
have
not
been
fully
explored,
which
was
research
gap
this
paper
tried
fill.
Based
on
contagion
theory,
study
identifies
three
sources
textual
sentiment
through
machine
learning
methods
OBCs:
member’s
posts,
other
members’
feedback,
focal
firm’s
official
feedback.

further
tested
process
among
these
valence
(mean)
volatility
(dispersion),
namely
how
they
affected
other.
Data
collected
MIUI
forum,
large
forum
launched
by
Xiaomi
corporate
August
1,
2011,
contained
17,622
posts
99,426
Results
showed
that:

differences

interactions
were
temporary
mostly
lasted
no

than
