The current study was conducted to evaluate the effects of Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae meal in broiler chicken diets on growth performance, carcass characteristics, meat quality, and cecal microbiota. 300 unsexed Arbor Acres chicks were divided into two treatment groups, each with six replicates 25 chicks. experimental group fed a diet which soybean partially substituted 5% BSF during starter phase (1–14 days) 10% grower (15–28 days). finisher period is BSF-free diet. Results showed no significant difference performance between control except for higher average weight second week (P=0.016). The effect on the physical, mechanical, and antibacterial properties of films composed alginate-chitosan with incorporation oregano (EOO) or thyme (EOT) essential oils was evaluated. These showed a thickness between 37.7 38.2 µm, no significant differences for oil content. Water vapor permeability decreased from 4.03 (oil-free film) to 1.65 (g/msPa) × 10−9 in 3% EO. Mechanical reflected reduction tensile strength (TS) 73 films) values 34 38 MPa EO, while elongation (E%) increased 4.8% 10.4–11.8%. Regarding capacity, as concentration increases, capacity also increases. On average, increase 1.0% 3.0% EOO antimicrobial against Gram-negative Gram-positive bacteria. outperformed EOT E. coli L. monocytogenes.
