Growing
evidence
suggests
that
cancer
should
not
be
viewed
solely
as
a
genetic
disease
but
also
the
result
of
functional
defects
in
metaorganism,
including
disturbances
gut
microbiota
(i.e.,
dysbiosis).
The
human
plays
critical
role
regulating
epithelial
barrier
function
gut,
airways,
and
skin,
along
with
host
metabolism
systemic
immune
responses
against
microbes
cancer.
Collaborative
international
networks,
such
ONCOBIOME,
are
essential
advancing
research
equity
building
microbiome
resources
to
identify
validate
microbiota-related
biomarkers
therapies.
In
this
review,
we
explore
intricate
relationship
between
microbiome,
metabolism,
immunity,
propose
microbiota-based
strategies
improve
outcomes
for
individuals
at
risk
developing
or
living

The
intratumoral
microbiota,
an
integral
part
of
liver
tumors,
has
garnered
significant
attention
from
researchers
due
to
its
role
in
tumor

role
of
the
gut
microbiome
in
development
and
progression
liver
cancer
has
long
been
recognized.However,

Abstract
The
human
microbiome
emerges
as
a
promising
reservoir
for
diagnostic
markers
and
therapeutics.
Since
host-associated
microbiomes
at
various
body
sites
differ
diseases
do
not
occur
in
isolation,
comprehensive
analysis
strategy
highlighting
the
full
potential
of
should
include
diverse
specimen
types
diseases.
To
ensure
robust
data
quality
comparability
across
diseases,
we
employ
standardized
protocols
to
generate
sequencing
from
1931
prospectively
collected
specimens,
including
saliva,
plaque,
skin,
throat,
eye,
stool,

Abstract
Mathematical
modeling
of
somatic
evolution,
a
process
impacting
both
host
cells
and
microbial
communities
in
the
human
body,
can
capture
important
dynamics
driving
carcinogenesis.
Here
we
considered
models
for
esophageal
adenocarcinoma
(EAC),
cancer
that
has
dramatically
increased
incidence
over
past
few
decades
Western
populations,
with
high
case
fatality
rates

to
late-stage
diagnoses.

Abstract
As
next-generation
sequencing
technologies
produce
deeper
genome
coverages
at
lower
costs,
there
is
a
critical
need
for
reliable
computational
host
DNA
removal
in
metagenomic
data.
We
find
that
insufficient
filtration
using
prior
human
references
can
introduce
false
sex
biases
and
inadvertently
permit
flow-through
of
host-specific
during
bioinformatic
analyses,
which
could
be
exploited

identification.

address
these
issues,
we
benchmark
three
methods
varying
throughput,
with
concomitant
applications
across
low
biomass
samples
such
as
skin

Introduction
The
microbial
composition
of
human
breast
milk
and
infant
meconium
offers
critical
insights
into
the
early
colonization
profile,
it
greatly
contributes
to
infant’s
immune
system
long-term
health
outcomes.
However,
analyzing
these
samples
often
faces
technical
challenges
limitations
low-resolution
using
conventional
approaches
due
their
low
biomass.
Methods
Here,
we
employed
type
IIB
restriction
enzymes
site-associated
DNA
sequencing
for
microbiome
(2bRAD-M)
as
a
reduced
metagenomics
method
address
issues
profile
species-level
composition.
We
collected
samples,
maternal
feces,
meconium,
comparing
results
from
2bRAD-M
with
those
both
commonly
used
16S
rRNA
amplicon
gold-standard
whole
(WMS).
Results
accuracy
robustness

correlation

distance

WMS
samples.
