Cisplatin-based chemotherapy is frequently employed as the primary therapeutic approach for advanced lung cancer. Nevertheless, a significant proportion of patients may develop resistance to cisplatin, leading diminished efficacy chemotherapy. Through analysis Gene Expression Omnibus databases, TSPAN6 has been identified key factor in conferring attributed its activation NF-κB signaling pathway. Knockdown using siRNA resulted decreased expression levels A549 cells. This indicates that have dual effects on cancer cisplatin and could serve promising target individuals with resistance.

Cervical cancer, a major global health issue and the fourth most common cancer among women, is strongly linked to Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infection. Emerging evidence indicates that oxidative stress plays critical role in carcinogenesis of cervical tissue. This study investigates relationship between markers—specifically oxysterols, lipid oxidation, protein carbonylation—and progression neoplasia. Oxysterols, which are elevated various inflammatory diseases cancers, were measured cervicovaginal fluid samples using LC-MS/MS. The targeted oxysterols included 27-hydroxycholesterol (27-OHC), 7β-hydroxycholesterol (7β-OHC), 7-ketocholesterol (7-KC), 7α,27-dihydroxycholesterol (7α,27-diOHC). Among these, was significantly increased correlation with severity neoplastic stages. In parallel, carbonylation, an indicator cellular stress, assessed. Results revealed higher levels carbonylation compared non-neoplastic controls. These modifications further analysed through redox proteomics identify specific proteins affected. demonstrates oxidation secretions development cancer. Identifying these biomarkers may improve screening strategies, enabling identification individuals at risk for neoplasia guiding timely interventions.
