While mastery of neuroanatomy is important for the investigation brain, there an increasing interest in exploring neural pathways to better understand roles circuitry brain functions. To tackle limitations traditional 2D-display-based neuronavigation software intuitively visualizing complex 3D anatomies, several virtual reality (VR) and augmented (AR) solutions have been proposed facilitate neuroanatomical education. However, with knowledge on connectivity functioning sub-systems, still a lack similar education exploration these topics, which demand more elaborate visualization interaction strategies. address this gap, we designed immerSive custOmizable Neuro learnIng plAtform (SONIA), novel, user-friendly VR system multi-scale paradigm that allowed flexible customization learning materials. With both quantitative qualitative evaluations through user studies, was shown high usability, attractive visual design, good educational value. As first immersive integrated customizable design detailed narratives sub-systems connectivity, SONIA showcased new potential directions provided valuable insights regarding medical VR.

This paper presents the impact of using virtual reality (VR) in education and focuses on main factors that affect behavioral intention this new technology for benefit both professors students. As part our research methodology, we conducted a survey based Technology Acceptance Model used partial least squares structural equation modelling. The results show to use VR is influenced by usage satisfaction task–technology fit. system quality proved be important influencing fit perceived usefulness. findings are useful considering adoption technologies might improve efficiency learning their Additionally, managers educational institutions can these insights direct investments towards type innovation, which appeals newer generations.
