A novel green synthesis method was developed for sulfur-doped carbon dots (S-C-dots) using chicken egg white (CEW) and L-cysteine the rapid cost-effective detection of copper ions (Cu2+) in water. This one-pot, room-temperature, base-catalyzed approach eliminated need energy-intensive processes purification steps, adhering to principles chemistry. The synthesized S-C-dots were characterized UV-Vis, FT-IR, fluorescence, EDS, XRD, Z-potential analyses. Among six samples tested, A060 demonstrated superior properties, achieving a limit 3.3 ppb (52 nM) Cu2+ aqueous solutions. study highlights potential as eco-friendly, accessible, efficient tools monitoring heavy metal contamination drinking water, offering promising solution global water safety challenges.

Introduction The heavy metal elements cadmium (Cd) and zinc (Zn) often coexist in nature, making the environmental media more prone to compound pollution. However, research on toxic effect of Cd–Zn combination is still lacking, underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Methods Therefore, this experiment, we established four treatment groups with different ratios stress for broad bean, Vicia faba L., aphids, Megoura crassicauda , explore growth physiological adaptation under levels mixed stress. Results By measuring germination rate, seedling height, chlorophyll content beans, found that Cd–Zn-mixed has a synergistic inhibitory development beans. Cd Zn can be transferred through food chain, while beans resist complex by regulating total soluble sugars photosynthetic pigments body, as well accumulating proline. In addition, first generation adult (12.5 mg/kg) + (100 significantly affected expression trehalase ( TRE ) trehalose-6-phosphate synthase TPS genes influenced carbohydrate activity aphids. Discussion number offspring produced second-generation aphids was reduced treatment, but it not caused changes vitellogenin (Vg) content.
