Nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI) is highly prevalent in adolescents and associated with various mental health problems. Repetitive NSSI (R-NSSI), as an extreme manifestation of NSSI, a growing concern has been proposed behavioral addiction. However, little known about the potential addictive mechanisms NSSI. This study aimed to examine mediating effect emotion dysregulation moderating impulsivity using Interaction Person-Affect-Cognition-Execution (I-PACE) model who repeatedly engage NSSI.A total 3,915 (mean age = 13.21 years, SD 0.87, 57.6% male) were recruited from three middle schools. Relevant questionnaires used evaluate childhood maltreatment, dysregulation, impulsivity, Mediation moderated mediation analyses conducted separately for occasional (O-NSSI) R-NSSI assess relationship between frequency.Our found that maltreatment was directly related indirectly through both O-NSSI groups.
