Solid tumors often develop hypoxic regions, leading to aggressive behavior and increased drug resistance. The chemical composition of Cymbopogon citratus essential oil (EO) was analyzed using GC-MS. Alginate nanoparticles containing the EO its primary component, citral, were synthesized via ionic gelation method. Encapsulation confirmed ATR-FTIR analysis. anticancer efficacy C. EO, their respective alginate evaluated under normoxic (21% oxygen) (1% conditions on breast cancer (MDA-MB-231) melanoma (A-375) cell lines. Additionally, qPCR flow cytometry used assess apoptosis gene expression ratios (Bax/Bcl-2) levels apoptosis. Citral (80.98%) identified as major component EO. citral (C. citratus-AlgNPs citral-AlgNPs) with particle sizes 195 ± 4 nm 222 9 nm, zeta potentials -22 3 mV − 17 1 mV, respectively. Both samples demonstrated significantly greater conditions. had IC50 values 27 (19–39) µg/mL 25 (4-147) µg/mL, respectively, against MDA-MB-231 A-375 cells. Flow showed conditions, highest rates observed for citral-AlgNPs (84 5 92 5% in cells, respectively). This study demonstrates that enhance activity particularly highlighting potential hypoxia-targeted therapies.

Microbial foods include microbial biomass, naturally fermented foods, and heterologously synthesized food ingredients derived from fermentation. Terpenoids, using isoprene as the basic structure, possess various skeletons functional groups. They exhibit diverse physicochemical properties physiological activities, such unique flavor, anti-bacterial, anti-oxidant, anti-cancer, hypolipemic, making them extensively used in industry, fragrance, preservatives, dietary supplements, medicinal health food. Compared to traditional strategies like direct extraction natural species chemical synthesis, cell factories for edible terpenoids have higher titers yields. can utilize low-cost raw materials are easily scaling-up, representing a novel green sustainable production mode. In this review, we briefly introduce synthetic pathway of applications producing terpenoids. Secondly, highlight several typical non-typical chassis terpenoid-producing factories. addition, reviewed recent advances representative terpenoid with gram-scale titer preservation, nutritional enhancers, foods. Finally, predict future directions their commercialization process.

Perilla frutescens (L.) Britt., a multifunctional herbaceous plant, is widely used in traditional medicine and cuisine due to its rich array of bioactive compounds. To date, many key phytochemicals P. have been identified, including volatile terpenoids (perillaldehyde, limonene,), flavonoids (luteolin, apigenin), phenolic acids (rosmarinic acid derivatives), which exhibit significant antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, anticancer, antibacterial, blood sugar-lowering effects. Studies shown that oils, flavonoids, exert their effects various experimental models. In food industrial applications, shows innovative potential functional foods, natural preservatives, novel additives, effectively extending shelf life providing antimicrobial protection. Moreover, research on the biology genetic improvement has provided new approaches enhance yield content. Finally, this paper also discusses safety standardization issues theoretical support for widespread application.

Piper gaudichaudianum Kunth essential oil (EO) is a natural source of bioactive components, having multiple therapeutic applications. Its chemical composition highly variable, and strictly depends on abiotic factors, resulting in various biological activities. The present study details the utilization gas chromatographic techniques alongside nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy to characterize from Brazil. Seventy-six components were identified using GC-MS analysis, while enantio‑selective multidimensional chromatography elucidated enantiomeric distribution eight chiral for first time literature. Following an unidentified component, constituting approximately 27 % total oil, prompted isolation step through preparative chromatography. Through combined use resonance, GC-Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), mass spectrometry (MS), unknown molecule was structurally as 4-[(3E)‑dec-3-en-1-yl]phenol. Remarkably, it known molecule, gibbilimbol B, not previously listed any MS database. Subsequently, spectrum included commercial library, specifically FFNSC 4.0 database, time.
