Objective: Cartilage injury is a common clinical condition, and treatment approaches have evolved over time from traditional conservative surgical methods to regenerative repair. In this context, hydrogels, as widely used biomaterials in the field of cartilage repair, garnered significant attention. Particularly, responsive hydrogels (also known “smart hydrogels”) shown immense potential due their ability respond various physicochemical properties environmental changes. This paper aims review latest research developments utilizing more systematic comprehensive meta-analysis approach evaluate status application value hydrogels. The goal determine whether these materials demonstrate favorable therapeutic effects for subsequent applications, thereby offering improved patients with injuries.
