Objective: Cartilage injury is a common clinical condition, and treatment approaches have evolved over time from traditional conservative surgical methods to regenerative repair. In this context, hydrogels, as widely used biomaterials in the field of cartilage repair, garnered significant attention. Particularly, responsive hydrogels (also known “smart hydrogels”) shown immense potential due their ability respond various physicochemical properties environmental changes. This paper aims review latest research developments utilizing more systematic comprehensive meta-analysis approach evaluate status application value hydrogels. The goal determine whether these materials demonstrate favorable therapeutic effects for subsequent applications, thereby offering improved patients with injuries. Method: study employed literature search method summarize progress by retrieving on subject studies. terms included “hydrogel” “cartilage,” covering data database inception up October 2023. quality was independently evaluated using Review Manager v5.4 software. Quantifiable statistically analyzed R language. Results: A total 7 articles were retrieved further meta-analysis. assessment, studies demonstrated reliability accuracy. results indicated that exhibit unique advantages effective outcomes Subgroup analysis revealed influences factors such different types animal models effects. Conclusion: Responsive show substantial provides strong scientific evidence applications research, hope promoting advancements
